It origins at the slope of Siny Syrt and flows to the Saratov Reservoir, near Novokuybyshevsk, Samara agglomeration. It is 298 km long. The town of Chapayevsk stays alongside the river. The river is navigable for 34 from its mouth. The river has snow feeding and dries up in the upper stream. Since November till April it is used to be frozen. Major inflows are Petrushka, Vetlyanka, Vyazovka.

The Field Elm cultivar Ulmus minor 'Dehesa de la Villa' was cloned by root cuttings from a tree growing in the eponymous park within the Moncloa-Aravaca district of north-west Madrid, by researchers at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Montes, Universidad Politėcnica de Madrid in 1990. 'Dehesa de la Villa' is one of a number of cultivars found to have a very high resistance to Dutch Elm Disease, on a par with, if not greater than, the hybrid cultivar 'Sapporo Autumn Gold'. In the Madrid study, the appearance of the tree was rated 4.3 / 5.
Jade Spring Hill is located to the west of the Summer Palace in Beijing, China. It was also formerly known as Jingming Palace or Jingming Garden. It is named after the Jade Spring. It is the location of the Xiangji Temple, the Yufeng Pagoda, the Jinxing Palace and the Furong Palace. Jade Spring Hill is the villa area of the Central Military Commission (CMC) today, and is not open to the public. Several of the most recent General Secretaries of the Communist Party of China, including Jiang Zemin, Hu Jintao, and Xi Jinping have homes in Jade Spring Hill.
