The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) of Bangalore, India, is a governmental organization and the principal planning authority for Bangalore in accordance with the Karnataka Municipal Corporation Act. Its functions, carried out under the Karnataka Town and Country Planning Act of 1961, include preparing a Comprehensive Development Plan for the Bangalore Metropolitan Region. It also oversees planning and development of infrastructure, provision of development-related sites and services, the housing needs of underprivileged citizens in Bangalore and is currently the city's largest land developer. No other authority or person may undertake development within the Bangalore Metropolitan Region without the permission of the BDA.

The Kalika Purana, also called the Kali Purana, Sati Purana or Kalika Tantra, is one of the eighteen minor Puranas (Upapurana) in the Shaktism tradition of Hinduism. The text was likely composed in Assam or Cooch Behar region of India and is attributed to the sage Markandeya. It exists in many versions, variously organized in 90 to 93 chapters. The surviving versions of the text are unusual in that they start abruptly and follow a format not found in either the major or minor Purana-genre mythical texts of Hinduism. Various types of animal sacrifices for devi are detailed in the Purana.

An Agraharam or Agrahara was a grant of land and royal income from it, typically by a king or a noble family in India, for religious purposes, particularly to Brahmins to maintain temples in that land or a pilgrimage site and to sustain their families. Agraharams were also known as Chaturvedimangalams in ancient times. They were also known as ghatoka, and boya. Agraharams were built and maintained by dynasties such as the Pandya, Cholas, Kadambas, Pallavas, Vijayanagara and other Deccan dynasties since ancient times.

The Daivadnya,, is a community from Goa and Karnataka, who claim to have descended from Vishwakarma. Although they claim themselves to be Brahmin, but these claims are not accepted by others including local Brahmin castes. They are native to the Konkan and are mainly found in the states of Goa and Damaon, Canara, coastal Maharashtra, and Kerala. Daivadnyas in the state of Karnataka are classified by National Commission for Backward Classes as an Other Backward Class.

Madiwala lake is one of the biggest lakes in Bangalore, India spread over an area of 114.3 hectare. The water in the lake was fit for drinking till the early 1990s. Since then it has become unfit for drinking due to industrial waste and sewage entering the waterbody. It has gradually become polluted.

This area is within Electronic City and is adjacent to Infosys Limited and Hewlett Packard. As of 2001 India census, Konappana Agrahara had a population of 11038 with 6659 males and 4379 females.

Agrahara Belaguli is a village in Karnataka, India. It is situated about 25 km northeast from Channarayapattana in Hassan district. It was a major town before the 14th-century during the Hoysala times. Early inscriptions here date from the 11th and 12th-century. Kesava Dannayaka – a general of king Vira Ballala, added several Hoysala temples dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu here in early 13th-century. He also constructed a water reservoir called Kesavasamudra. This historic water infrastructure is now to the west of the village. The village became an Agrahara who were believed to be following Shatkarmas in the second half of the 13th-century, renamed as Kesavapura. This town was destroyed after the 13th-century. Belaguli is now a small village, and most of the historic temples ruined. Of these, the Betteshvara temple – Kesavesvara temple in inscriptions survives in the most preserved form. This is a twin-temple, with two equal sanctums, one dedicated to Kesava-Vishnu and other to Isvara-Shiva. It has beautifully carved pillars and partly mutilated remains of Shaivism, Vaishnavism, Shaktism and Vedic deity relief panels.
