Vimbai Mutinhiri (born 18 February 1987) is a Zimbabwean actress, model and television personality. She was born in Harare, Zimbabwe but raised in Belgrade, Serbia and in Johannesburg, South Africa. Prior to participating in Big Brother Africa Amplified in 2011, she studied in South Africa graduating from the University of Cape Town with an honours degree in politics, philosophy and economics.
Vimbai is the youngest of four children of Ambrose Mutinhiri and Tracy Mutinhiri, both of whom are Zimbabwean cabinet ministers. [1] [2]
She attended at St Edward's School, Oxford and Arundel School in Harare, [3] [4] graduating in 2000 and 2002 respectively. She then studied Social Sciences at the University of Cape Town, graduating in 2008 with a bachelor's degree.
Vimbai started her career at the age of 15 years as an actress in Zimbabwe, in a short film titled “Who’s In Charge”, which featured at the Zimbabwe International Film Festival.[ citation needed ] She had a lead role in Zimbabwe's first soap opera titled “Studio 263”. While studying at the University of Cape Town, she continued modelling[ citation needed ].
In 2011, Vimbai took part in Big Brother Africa season 6 (Amplified).
She hosted various major African events, including the first Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards broadcast [5] live to 54 countries from Lagos, Nigeria.
Currently the Face of Castle Milk Stout (Cameroon)[ citation needed ], she has also been on the runway at the SA Fashion Week[ citation needed ] and the Zimbabwe Fashion Week[ citation needed ].
Vimbai was the 16th housemate to be evicted, on Day 84.

After Big Brother, she was chosen as the new presenter for the entertainment and lifestyle show, “Star Gist” on Africa Magic Entertainment. Vimbai co-hosts the show, which is broadcast across Africa, with 22-year-old South African, Lawrence Maleka. [6]
In May 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Vimbai married Andrew Ekpenyong in Calabar, Nigeria. [7]
In an interview with Nigerian daily, Punch [8] she said "I love structured, well-fitting dresses. Also, well-tailored clothing. I have always loved colours especially on dark skin."
Harare, originally known as Salisbury, is the capital and most populous city of Zimbabwe. Her first published book was a collection of short stories, Why Don't You Carve Other Animals (1992), which was followed by five novels: Nehanda (1993), Without a Name (1994), Under the Tongue (1996), Butterfly Burning (1998), and The Stone Virgins (2002). Her novels are known for their poetic prose, difficult subject-matter, and their strong women characters, and are firmly rooted in Zimbabwe's difficult past. For these reasons, she has been widely studied and appreciated by those studying postcolonial African literature.
Nehanda Charwe Nyakasikana also known as Mbuya Nehanda was a svikiro, or spirit medium of the Zezuru Shona people. She was a medium of Nehanda, a female Shona mhondoro. As one of the spiritual leaders of the Shona, she was one of the leaders of a revolt, the Chimurenga, against the British South Africa Company's colonisation of what is now Zimbabwe led by Cecil John Rhodes in 1889. She was a Hera of the HwataShava Mufakose Dynasty. She and her ally Sekuru Kaguvi were eventually captured and executed by the company on charges of murder. She has been commemorated by Zimbabweans by statues, songs, novels, and poems, and the names of streets and hospitals. The legacy of the medium continued to be linked to the theme of resistance, particularly the guerrilla war that began in 1972. Her name became of increasing importance to the nationalist movements in Zimbabwe.

Big Brother Africa 6 was the sixth season of the reality television series Big Brother Africa produced by Endemol for M-Net which began airing on 1 May 2011 and ran for 91 days until 31 July 2011. This year Mnet co-partnered with Coca-Cola for the season. Ikponmwosa "IK" Osakioduwa came back to host the show for the third time in a row. The launch show was also broadcast live through the official website. This year the contestants will move into a brand new house. South African band BLKJKS (Blackjacks) performed their song 'Mzabalazo'; Busta Rhymes also performed during the 2 hour launch show.

The name "Jah Prayzah" comes from his name, "Mukudzeyi", which means "Praise Him".
