Lt. Gen. Vinod Vashisht is a former general of the Indian Army. He was appointed Director General of the National Cadet Corps (India) (NCC) on December 23 2016, succeeding Lt Gen Aniruddha Chakravarty, who retired on August 31 of that year. [1] He remained Director General of the NCC until 2017.
He was commissioned into the Regiment of Artillery in June 1979, after graduating from the Defence Services Staff College, Higher Command Course and National Defence College. He held appointments such as Colonel General Staff of an Armoured Division and Secretary of the Chief of Staff Committee. He commanded a Regiment and Brigade in Jammu and Kashmir and an Artillery Division as part of a Strike Corps in the Southern Theater. He was assigned as Additional Military Secretary (A) with mandate of career management and posting of all officers of the Army up to the rank of Colonel. The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a youth organisation in Sri Lanka, sponsored by the Ministry of Defence, which operates in schools, and normally includes Army, Navy and Air Force sections. The corp is open for secondary school students on voluntary basis and its officers are government teachers and educational administrators, who serve as instructors. The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades, as well as leadership training.

General Sundararajan Padmanabhan PVSM, AVSM, VSM is a former General Officer of the Indian Army. He served as the 17th Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army. Gen. Padmanabhan succeeded General V.P. Malik on 30 September 2000. He also served as Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee.
The Officers Training Academy (OTA) are training establishments of the Indian Army that train officers for the Short Service Commission (SSC). The 49-week course at the OTA prepares graduates for all branches of the Army, except for the Army Medical Corps. Established in 1963, the first academy is located in the outskirts of Chennai. A new academy was set up at Gaya in 2011; but was given the go-ahead in December 2019 to be disbanded.
Lieutenant General Jameel Mahmood, AVSM, ADC was a General Officer in the Indian Army. He served as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Eastern Command between October1992 and May1993. Gen Mahmood was killed with his wife in an Mi-17 helicopter crash in Bhutan, while on an official visit.

Lieutenant General Kamal Jit Singh, PVSM, AVSM & Bar is a retired Indian Army officer and former general officer commanding-in-chief of Western Command. After retirement, he was conferred with Maharaja Ranjit Singh Chair of Excellence in Punjab University. and was appointed as Advisor to CM Haryana in November 2018. He graduated from the National Defence Academy, and attended various staff courses in training academies of the Indian Army throughout the country. Singh worked closely with UN Peacekeeping forces stationed in Angola and was commended by the chief and UN Force Commander during his tenure. He held several appointments as commanding officer and also staff appointments at the headquarters of the Indian Army. He has been twice awarded the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal. Lieutenant General Devraj Anbu, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, ADC is a retired Indian Army general who served as Vice Chief of Army Staff (VCOAS). He assumed office on 1 June 2018 following the retirement of Lt Gen Sarath Chand, and retired on 31 August 2019.
Lieutenant General Dewan Rabindranath Soni, PVSM, VSM is a former General Officer-Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Southern Command of the Indian Army. He served in office from 1 December 2017 till 30 September 2018. He assumed the post after Lieutenant General P M Hariz retired and was succeeded by Lt General Satinder Kumar Saini.
General Manoj Mukund Naravane PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, ADC is a Four Star general of the Indian Army and the 28th Chief of the Army Staff (COAS). He took over from General Bipin Rawat on 31 December 2019 after the latter completed his term as the COAS. Prior to his appointment as the COAS, the general served as the 40th Vice Chief of Army Staff (VCOAS) of the Indian Army, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of Eastern Command and General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Army Training Command.
