Virginia's 20th House of Delegates district elects one of 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates, the lower house of the state's bicameral legislature. District 20 consists of parts of Augusta County and Nelson County; Highland County; and the cities of Staunton and Waynesboro. It has been represented by Republican John Avoli since 2020.

The Virginia General Assembly is the legislative body of the Commonwealth of Virginia, the oldest continuous law-making body in the Western Hemisphere, the first elected legislative assembly in the New World, and was established on July 30, 1619. The General Assembly is a bicameral body consisting of a lower house, the Virginia House of Delegates, with 100 members, and an upper house, the Senate of Virginia, with 40 members. Senators serve terms of four years, and delegates serve two-year terms. Combined, the General Assembly consists of 140 elected representatives from an equal number of constituent districts across the commonwealth. The House of Delegates is presided over by the speaker of the House, while the Senate is presided over by the lieutenant governor of Virginia. The House and Senate each elect a clerk and sergeant-at-arms. The Senate of Virginia's clerk is known as the clerk of the Senate.
Terry Gene Kilgore is an American attorney and politician. A Republican, he was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in 1993, and became chair of the Commerce and Labor committee in 2008. He currently represents the 1st district in the far southwestern corner of the state, near Cumberland Gap. He graduated with a B.A. from the University of Virginia's College at Wise, previously named Clinch Valley College, and a J.D. from the College of William & Mary's School of Law.
Daniel Webster Marshall III is an American politician and race car driver. He was a member of the Danville, Virginia city council 2000–2001. He has been a Republican member of the Virginia House of Delegates since 2002, representing the 14th district, made up of Danville and parts of Henry and Pittsylvania Counties.
Christopher Todd Gilbert is an American politician and attorney currently serving as Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates. The Virginia House of Delegates election of 2017 was held on Tuesday, November 7. All 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates were contested. The Republican Party held a 66–34 majority in the House of Delegates before the election but lost 15 seats to the Democratic Party, resulting in the Republicans holding a 50–49 advantage. After a recount, the result of the election in the 94th district was called a tie. The candidate to hold the seat was determined by random drawing on January 4, 2018, which resulted in the Republicans holding a 51–49 majority.
Virginia's 57th House of Delegates district elects one of 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates, the lower house of the state's bicameral legislature. District 57, consisting of parts of Charlottesville and Albemarle County, has been represented by Sally Hudson since 2020, and previously by David Toscano from 2006 to 2020, following the 2005 election in which he defeated Thomas W. McCrystal after the retirement of Mitchell Van Yahres. Following the redistricting after the 2020 Census, the district was moved to include areas of Goochland County and Henrico County. In the 2023 Virginia House of Delegates election, Republican David Owen narrowly won the seat over his Democratic opponent.
Virginia's 22nd House of Delegates district elects one of 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates, the lower house of the state's bicameral legislature. District 22, consisting of Bedford County, Lynchburg, Campbell County, and Franklin County, was most recently represented by Republican Kathy Byron.
Virginia's 42nd House of Delegates district elects one of 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates, the lower house of the state's bicameral legislature. Under a redistricting plan effective for the 2023 Virginia House of Delegates election, the district number was reassigned from northern Virginia's Fairfax County to a new southwestern Virginia district formed from parts of the previous districts 12, 7 and 8, including the independent city of Radford, Giles County, and parts of Montgomery and Pulaski counties. The old 12th District included Radford, Giles and different parts of Pulaski and Montgomery counties. Significantly, the new 42nd district no longer includes the Montgomery County town of Blacksburg, which had been home to previous Democrat delegates from the 12th, Joan Munford, Jim Shuler and Chris Hurst.

Virginia's 41st House of Delegates district elects one of 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates, the lower house of the state's bicameral legislature. District 41 represents part of Fairfax County, Virginia. The seat is currently held by Republican Chris Obenshain since 2023. Before that it was represented by Democrat Eileen Filler-Corn. Filler-Corn was the Speaker of the House from 2020 to 2022.

Ronnie Ray Campbell was an American politician who served as a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, first elected in a special election in 2018. Campbell represented the 24th district comprising Rockbridge and Bath Counties, parts of Amherst and Augusta Counties, and the independent cities of Lexington and Buena Vista.

Incumbent Attorney General Bob McDonnell was eligible for re-election, but instead opted to successfully run for Governor of Virginia. Nomination primaries held through the Department of Elections were held June 20, 2023. These were the first elections held following redistricting as a result of the 2020 census.
