Vivekananda Sarovar, popularly called Swami Vivekananda Sarovar or Budha Talab, is a lake in Raipur, the capital city of Chhattisgarh, India. It is located in Budhapara area near the Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium [1] and it is spread in 30 hectares. [2] [3] [4]
In 1897, the great Indian philosopher and thinker, Swami Vivekananda visited Raipur. According to popular belief, Swami Vivekananda used to come to this lake every morning for a bath during his two-year stay in Raipur. Visualize him resting by the still waters, finding peace and inspiration. Because of this connection, the place was later renamed Swami Vivekananda Sarovar. [5]
The Budha Talab is also known as one of the best picnic spots in the city. It is the best place for entertainment and tourism. It has a kids play area and an open gym. [6] [7] [8]
