Vladivostok Times

The Vladivostok Times was an online English-language newspaper based in Vladivostok, Russia. It was founded in March 2006 and ceased publishing in 2011. [1] [2]

The Times covered Far East Russian regional issues for an international English-speaking audience, as well as tourist information such as consulate contacts, main tourist routes, cultural events, etc. Its news stories were compiled from English translations of articles from news sources such as PrimaMedia, RIA Novosti, and others.

Vladivostok Air Flight 352 was a scheduled passenger flight from Yekaterinburg, Russia to Vladivostok via Irkutsk. On 4 July 2001, the aircraft operating the flight, a Tupolev Tu-154M with tail number RA-85845, lost control, stalled, and crashed while approaching Irkutsk Airport. All 136 passengers and 9 flight crew members aboard perished, making it the third deadliest aircraft crash over Russian territory to date after Aeroflot Flight 3352 and Aeroflot Flight 217.

Millionka was the old Chinese quarter of Vladivostok, Russia. Located north of the city's railway station and next to the port of Vladivostok, Millionka was a neighbourhood densely occupied by three-story buildings with secret courtyards. Once known as Vladivostok's Chinatown, the neighbourhood accommodated up to 50,000 Chinese residents, until Joseph Stalin demanded the neighbourhood be cleared in 1936. Today, as a major cultural heritage site of the city, it is being transformed into the centre of fashion and cafe life in Vladivostok.
