Vogel Plaza is a town square at the intersection of E. Main Street and Central Avenue in Medford, Oregon, United States. It is named for Medford's first city councillor Virginia Vogel.
The site has hosted many demonstrations and protests, such as a rally for immigrants rights in mid 2018, [1] another after the resignation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions in 2018, [2] and one for Earth Day 2019. [3] The plaza hosted the city's first menorah lighting in 2017. [4]
The plaza has a statue of a man playing chess. [5] The city selected an artist to paint a mural on the side of one of the buildings neighboring the plaza in 2019. [6] [7] [8]
Medford is a city in and the county seat of Jackson County, Oregon, in the United States. As of the 2020 United States Census on April 1, 2020, the city had a total population of 85,824 and a metropolitan area population of 223,259, making the Medford MSA the fourth largest metro area in Oregon. The city was named in 1883 by David Loring, civil engineer and right-of-way agent for the Oregon and California Railroad, after Medford, Massachusetts, which was near Loring's hometown of Concord, Massachusetts. Medford is near the middle ford of Bear Creek.
Grants Pass is the county seat of Josephine County, Oregon, United States. The city is located on Interstate 5, northwest of Medford, along the Rogue River. The population was 39,189 at the 2020 census.

Emigrant Lake is a reservoir located 5 miles (8 km) southeast of Ashland, Oregon, at the southern end of the Rogue Valley. It has an elevation of 2,241 feet (683 m) above sea level. The lake has an average surface area of 806 acres (3.26 km2), and an average volume of 40,530 acre-feet (49,990,000 m3). The lake is impounded by Emigrant Lake Dam, which stands 205 feet (62 m) above the surrounding farmland, and is located on Emigrant Creek at the west side of the lake. The spillway is at the northern tip of the lake. Emigrant Creek is a tributary of Bear Creek.

The End Domestic Terrorism rally, sometimes subtitled "Better Dead Than Red", was a far-right demonstration organized by the Proud Boys and held in Portland, Oregon on August 17, 2019. The event, the purpose of which was to promote the idea that the "antifa" anti-fascist movement should be classified as "domestic terrorism", received national attention. The rally drew more counter-demonstrators than participants—with at least one group urging its members in advance not to attend—and ended with the Proud Boys requesting a police escort to leave.

Black Lives Matter Plaza is a two-block-long pedestrian section of 16th Street NW in Downtown Washington, D.C. The plaza was renamed by Mayor Muriel Bowser on June 5, 2020, after the Department of Public Works painted the words "Black Lives Matter" in 35-foot (11 m) yellow capital letters, along with the flag of Washington, D.C., during the series of George Floyd protests taking place in the city.
