The FIVB Volleyball World League was an annual international men's volleyball competition. Created in 1990, it was the longest and richest of all the international events organized by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). The women's version of the competition was called FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix. This event should not be confused with the other international volleyball competitions, the World Championship, the World Cup and the World Grand Champions Cup.

Swimming at the 2011 Arab Games was held at Hamad Aquatic Center in Doha, Qatar from 17 to 22 December. A total of 38 long course (50m) events were contested. The top medal-winning athletes from the Games both came from Swimming: Tunisia's Oussama Mellouli and Egypt's Farida Osman.
The volleyball tournaments at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo were played between 24 July and 8 August 2021. 24 volleyball teams and 48 beach volleyball teams participated in the tournament. The indoor volleyball competition took place at Ariake Arena in Ariake, and the beach volleyball tournament at Shiokaze Park, in the temporary Shiokaze Park Stadium.
The volleyball tournaments at the 2015 European Games in Baku were played between 13 and 28 June. 12 teams participated in the two indoor tournaments, while 32 pairs took part in each of the beach volleyball events.

Verónica Maria Gómez Carabali was a Venezuelan female volleyball player. She was part of the Venezuela women's national volleyball team. She won the silver medal at the 2002 Central American and Caribbean Games and the silver medal at the 2005 Bolivarian Games. She was in 2007 awarded in Belgium as volleyball player of the year.
Regina Pereira de Mendonca Uchoa is a Brazilian female volleyball player. She was part of the Brazil women's national volleyball team.
The FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup is an international volleyball competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. Initially the tournament was played in the year following the Olympic Games, except for 1973 when no tournament was held, but since 1991 the World Cup has been awarded in the year preceding the Olympic Games.
Beach volleyball at the 2018 Commonwealth Games was held on the Gold Coast, Australia from 6 to 12 April. The beach volleyball competition was held at Coolangatta Beachfront. This was the first time that Beach Volleyball was held at the Commonwealth Games. A total of twelve men's and twelve women's teams are scheduled to compete in each respective tournament.

The men's 4x4 beach volleyball tournament at the 2019 World Beach Games in Doha, Qatar, the inaugural edition of the ANOC World Beach Games, will take place over five days from 12–16 October. Held in tandem with the women's tournament, the two events comprise the 4x4 beach volleyball competition at this year's Games.
The volleyball tournaments at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are scheduled to run from 27 July to 11 August 2024. 24 volleyball teams and 48 beach volleyball teams will participate in the tournament. Indoor volleyball competitions will occur at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles with the beach volleyball tournament staged at the Eiffel Tower Stadium in Champ de Mars.
