W139 is an artist-run space established in 1979 on the Warmoesstraat, Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The former theatre was squatted in October 1979 by five young artists as "a movement against the closed world of commercial art and museums". [1] Currently a group of national and international artists are organising different contemporary art shows by following the W139 artist-run approach. [2] In 2016 the expositions 'Gym of Absolute Technology', 'Shifting Spaces' and 'UU&ME' were held. [3] [4]
Backless is the sixth full-length studio album by Eric Clapton. Produced by Glyn Johns, and released by RSO Records, Backless reached No. 8 on the pop charts. While the single "Promises" only reached No. 37 in the UK, it was a much bigger success in the US, reaching No. 9 on the Billboard charts. The follow-up single, "Watch Out for Lucy", was the B-side of "Promises", but reached #40 on the Billboard charts on its own merit. This was Clapton's last studio album to feature his longtime bassist Carl Radle who died in 1980.
