Wade Randolph Hampton' professionally known as W [1] ', also known as WishFM is an American DJ, film and music producer, and recording artist. [2]
In 1987, along with mentor Kerry Jaggers, Hampton opened his first nightclub, Westend, in Austin. He moved to Chicago a year later, before relocating to Los Angeles. [3]
During his time in LA – and later in San Francisco – Hampton established a reputation as a 'veteran West Coast rave promoter'. [2] Along with then-partner Stephanie Smiley he also set up Faster Bamboo, a shop 'designed to provide hard-to-find cutting-edge music and underground club info'. [4]
In 1995, Hampton signed a record label distribution deal in 1995 with Moonshine Music to launch Domestic Recordings, [2] through which he released music under the monikers ‘W’ and ‘Wish FM’. [5] [6] He would also release albums from acts such as Mark Farina, Symbiosis and Westside Chemical. [7] After moving to San Francisco, he would also have success with his weekly night ‘La Belle Epoque’ at 'The Top' nightclub. [8]
From 2006–2012 Hampton was Director of Dallas’ 'Ghostbar' nightclub, on top of the W Hotel. [9] [10]
Hampton made his acting debut in the independent film Groove (2000), for which he was the music producer. [11] [12] Groove was nominated for ‘Best Film Under $500,000’ at the 17th Independent Spirit Awards.
Hampton was also the Music Supervisor for the 2006 film TV Junkie, [13] which won the ‘Special Grand Jury Prize for a Documentary’ at the Sundance Film Festival.
Hampton grew up in Dallas, Texas. He currently resides in Los Angeles and has a son from his relationship with Stephanie Smiley. [4]
In the 1990s Hampton developed a friendship with psychologist Timothy Leary. He would later DJ at Leary's funeral memorial. [14]

Mixmaster Morris is an English electronica DJ and underground musician who has also recorded as The Irresistible Force. His work in the 1990s blended ambient music and chill-out influences with UK dance styles.
Richard "Richie" Hawtin is a British-Canadian electronic musician and DJ. He became involved with Detroit techno's second wave in the early 1990s, and has been a leading exponent of minimal techno since the mid-1990s. He became known for his recordings under the Plastikman and F.U.S.E. aliases. Under the latter, he released his debut album Dimension Intrusion (1993) as part of Warp's Artificial Intelligence series.

DJ Icey,, is an American DJ, electronic music producer, and remixer, credited by Allmusic as having helped to "jump-start the increasingly fertile dance scene in and around Orlando, FL, during the '90s." E, the Incredibly Strange History of Ecstasy credits him as "the prime founder of the Funky Breaks and the Florida Breaks." 1999's Rave America indicates that "the preoccupation with backbeats" characteristic of the Orlando sound was developed by DJ Icey.

Onzy Durrett Matthews, Jr. was an American jazz pianist, singer, arranger, composer, and television and movie actor. He is best known for the big band arrangements done for the Lou Rawls albums Black and Blue and Tobacco Road, as well as arrangements for several of Ray Charles' 1960s releases. He had his own big band for many years and recorded numerous tracks for Capitol Records, including two albums released under his own name. He later had a close relationship with the Duke Ellington orchestra, working as a pianist, arranger and conductor through the late 1960s and 1970s.
