The Walker County Schools is a public school district in Walker County, Georgia, United States, based in LaFayette. It serves the communities of Chattanooga Valley, Chickamauga, Fairview, Flintstone, Fort Oglethorpe, LaFayette, Lakeview, Lookout Mountain, and Rossville.

State Route 2 (SR 2) is a 165-mile-long (266 km) east-west State highway in the far North-northern part of Georgia. The highway serves southern suburbs of Chattanooga, Tennessee, as well as much of the mountains in the northern part of the state. It traverses the counties of Walker, Catoosa, Whitfield, Murray, Gilmer, Fannin, Union, Towns, and Rabun. It connects Flintstone, in the northwestern part of the state, with the South Carolina state line southeast of Clayton in the northern part and the northeastern part of the state. It also travels through Fort Oglethorpe, Ringgold, Ellijay, Blue Ridge, Blairsville, and Hiawassee. Parts of the highway in the Whitfield and Murray county area are designated as the Cohutta–Chattahoochee Scenic Byway.

The Chattanooga–Cleveland–Dalton, TN–GA Combined Statistical Area covers a total of thirteen counties – seven in southeast Tennessee, six in northwest Georgia. The combined statistical area consists of three metropolitan statistical areas – Chattanooga, Cleveland, and Dalton – as well as the Athens, Dayton, and Calhoun micropolitan statistical areas. At the 2010 census, the CSA had a population of 1,010,000.

Flintstone is an unincorporated community in Walker County, Georgia, United States. Located in northwestern Georgia, Flintstone lies approximately 12 miles south of Chattanooga, Tennessee, 120 miles northwest of Atlanta, 135 miles southeast of Nashville, Tennessee, and 150 miles northeast of Birmingham, Alabama. Although Flintstone is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 30725; the ZCTA for ZIP Code 30725 had a population of 3,456 at the 2000 census.

State Route 193 (SR 193) is a 27.2-mile-long (43.8 km) state highway in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. It runs southeast-to-north through portions of Walker county.
