A Day at the Races is the fifth studio album by the British rock band Queen, released on 10 December 1976 by EMI Records in the United Kingdom and by Elektra Records in the United States. It was the band's first completely self-produced album, and the first not to feature producer Roy Thomas Baker. Recorded at Sarm East, The Manor and Wessex Studios in England, A Day at the Races was engineered by Mike Stone. The album serves as a companion album to the band's previous album, A Night at the Opera, both taking their names from Marx Brothers films, as well as sharing similar packaging and eclectic musical themes.
Tonight's the Night is the sixth studio album by Canadian musician Neil Young, released in June 1975 on Reprise Records. It was recorded in August–September 1973, mostly on August 26, but its release was delayed for two years. It peaked at #25 on the Billboard 200. In 2003, the album was ranked number 331 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

American Pastime is the fourteenth album by American rock band Three Dog Night, released in 1976. Their only studio album not to feature the band's founding vocalists backed up by their long-time band, with some exceptions. It sold poorly and the band broke up in August 1976. Michael Allsup and Floyd Sneed had left the band in late 1974 to form their own group SS Fools, with former Three Dog Night member Joe Schermie, Stan Seymore, Wayne DeVillier, Bobby Kimball, and Jon Smith, to little success. Danny Hutton was fired from TDN in late 1975, and was not present for any of the recording. "Mellow Down", the song Hutton sings lead on, was recorded long before the album was released, and is likely an extra track from a previous album, such as Coming Down Your Way or Hard Labor. He was replaced by Jay Gruska.

It has sold over 20 million copies, and is Richie's best-selling album of all time. It was released by MCA Nashville and it produced four singles for Strait on the Billboard country charts. Eddie Kilgallon, then a member of the band Ricochet, co-wrote "One Night at a Time". Words & Music: John Mellencamp's Greatest Hits is a greatest hits album by American rock and roll artist John Mellencamp. This 2-disc set was released October 19, 2004 on the Island and UTV Records labels. It is a retrospective of Mellencamp's career at the time of its release, and features at least one song from each of his studio albums released between 1978's A Biography and 2003's Trouble No More. Two songs, "Walk Tall" and "Thank You," were recorded exclusively for this album. No songs from Mellencamp's 1976 debut album Chestnut Street Incident or 1983's The Kid Inside are represented. Also omitted is Mellencamp's cover of "Without Expression," which was released on his previous compilation album The Best That I Could Do 1978–1988.
One Live Night is a 1995 semi-acoustic live album by heavy metal band Dokken. The reunited Dokken recorded the album during their 1995 tour. The album went virtually unheard at the time of its release. Released at the time when grunge and alternative rock were dominating mainstream rock music, MTV had no interest in featuring glam metal acts; so Dokken decided to do their own "unplugged" album. This intimate performance included versions of "Tooth and Nail", "Into the Fire" and "Alone Again", as well as covers of the Beatles' "Nowhere Man" and Emerson, Lake & Palmer's "From the Beginning".
