Waseemuddin Qureshi is a Pakistani politician who had been a Member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh,from August 2018 to August 2023 and from May 2013 to May 2018.
He was born on 11 June 1967 in Karachi. [1]
He has a degree of Bachelor of Laws from Sindh Muslim Law College. [1]
He was elected to the Provincial Assembly of Sindh as a candidate of Mutahida Quami Movement (MQM) from Constituency PS-98 Karachi-X in the 2013 Sindh provincial election. [2] [3] He received 86,049 votes and defeated Shahid,a candidate of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).[ citation needed ]
He was re-elected to Provincial Assembly of Sindh as a candidate of Muttahida Qaumi Movement –Pakistan (MQM-P) from PS-123 (Karachi Central-I) in the 2018 Sindh provincial election. [4] He received 28,161 votes and defeated Faisal Muslim,a candidate of the PTI.[ citation needed ]
On 21 November 2023,he left the MQM-P and joined the Pakistan People's Party (PPP). [5]
Sardar Nabil Ahmed Gabol is a Pakistani politician who has been a Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since 2024. Previously he had been a member of the National Assembly from 2002 to 2015 and a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from 1988 to 1990 and again from 1993 to 1996. The 2023 Karachi local government elections were held in Karachi,Pakistan on 15 January 2023 to elect members of local councils. These members would then elect the Mayor of Karachi (2023-2027). These elections were the 3rd Karachi local government elections.
Provincial elections were held in Sindh on 8 February 2024 to elect a new provincial legislature. On 5 August 2023,after the approval of the results of the 2023 digital census by the Council of Common Interests headed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif,elections have been delayed for several months,as new delimitations will be published on 14 December 2023. On 2 November 2023,the Election Commission of Pakistan announced,in agreement with the President of Pakistan,Arif Alvi,that the elections should be held on 8 February 2024. This election was held concurrently with nationwide general elections and other provincial elections.
