Millry High School is in Washington County, Alabama. Its football team was established in 1927. [3] Wildcats are the school mascot. The football team plays on A.D. Britton Field. The school colors are green and white. Shane Hendry is the football team's coach. [3]

In 2022 the school enrolled 166 students. 82 percent were white and 13 percent black. The school is at 1 Wildcat Drive. [4]

McIntosh High School

McIntosh High School is a public high school in Washington County, Alabama. It is part of the Washington County School District. It is at 7010 Highway 43 in McIntosh, Alabama.

It serves grades 6-12. Jamelle Sauls is the principal. [5]

In 2023 the majority of students were documented as economically disadvantaged. 63.4 percent were black, 19.4 percent Native American, and 14.3 percent white, 1.1 percent Asian, 1.1 percent two or more "races" and .6 percent Hispanic. Teat scores are below the district and state averages. [6]

Demons are the school mascot. The school colors are navy blue, white, and gold. [7]

Football player Uche Iloh committed to Georgia Tech. [8]

In 2017 it was reported to be one of the 20 high schools in Alabama with the lowest ACT scores. [9]

The football team plays at H. H. Wiggins Field. It had regional championships in 1976 and 1984. It has never won a state championship. [10]

The economy in the area is largely agricultural and forestry product based. McIntosh is a small town. [11]

In 2001 the Demons mascot was removed but was later restored. [12]

A Native American testified about discrimination and efforts to preserve his culture in the community. He met with the school's principal to pursue organization of a special program for tribe members. [13]

South Lamar School is a K–12 unified school district located in Millport, Alabama. The principal is Lisa Newman Wright. South Lamar School's mascot is a Stallion. The school's colors are crimson and gold. It is a small, 1A school. In 2018, it received a financial reward from the state for having its third-graders test among the best in the state. US News reported the student body was more than 80 percent white and about 12 percent African American.
