Jonas Mekas was a Lithuanian-American filmmaker, poet, and artist who has been called "the godfather of American avant-garde cinema". Mekas' work has been exhibited in museums and at festivals worldwide. Mekas was active in New York City, where he co-founded Anthology Film Archives, The Film-Makers' Cooperative, and the journal Film Culture. He was also the first film critic for The Village Voice.
Suspect is a 2008 short film. It was the final graduation project of director Felix Hassenfratz at the Internationale Filmschule Köln. The story, inspired by true events and based on the documentary The Baker Did It, is set in a southern German province with the Badisch dialect. The film is a co-production with the broadcast stations SWR and Arte, and supported by a German film fund. Despite its regional emphasis, Suspect is a universal story, focused on human behaviour, a story about love in the face of doubt.

The film was inspired by a real-life Lithuanian interwar political theorist Kazys Pakštas and his works on Dausuva.
Ice Merchants is a 2022 animated short film directed by João Gonzalez. The 14-minute short about family love is the first ever Portuguese animation to be awarded at the Cannes Film Festival, where it premiered as part of the 2022 Critics' Week. The film has been featured in a number of international film festivals, receiving accolades such as the Gold Hugo award for Best Animated Short at the Chicago International Film Festival and won over nine awards in festivals and a nomination for the 95th Academy Awards in the category of Best Animated Short Film.
Rosemary A.D. is a 2022 animated short film directed by Ethan Barrett. The film was entirely drawn by hand, with coloured crayons. Since its premiere at the 2022 BFI London Film Festival, Rosemary A.D. has been selected in numerous international film festivals, including Indy Shorts Film Festival, Animafest Zagreb and the Austin Film Festival. Most recently, the film won its fourth Oscar-qualifying award at Indy Shorts International Film Festival, making it the short film with the most Oscar-qualifying wins in any category this year.
