Since 2018, the Mediterranean Games has exclusively featured 3x3 basketball.

Football has been played consistently at the Mediterranean Games since the year 1951 for men. Italy and Spain are the most successful teams. From 1991, national teams are not allowed, which means only youth teams participate in the tournament.

Volleyball has been played consistently at the Mediterranean Games since the year 1959 for men and since the year 1975 for women. The Italy men's national volleyball team are the most successful men's team and also the Italy women's national volleyball team is the most successful team for women.

The Greece men's national under-26 basketball team is the Under-26 age men's national basketball team for Greece. It is not to be confused with the first-tier Greece men's national basketball team. The Greece men's Under-26 national team has been used to represent Greece at the Mediterranean Games.
