Wayne Collins (born 24 June 1967) was an Australian rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s and 1990s. He played for Canberra, St. George and South Queensland in the NSWRL and ARL competitions. He also played for Leeds and Dewsbury in England.
He had played junior rugby league for the Merimbula-Pambula Bulldogs, during which time he was a state representative. [1]
A former Canberra Raiders lower grade hooker, Collins cemented a first grade spot after moving to St. George in 1991. He played with the St. George for four seasons between 1991 and 1994 which included two grand Final appearances in 1992 and 1993. Collins later joined the South Queensland Crushers in 1995 and stayed until 1996 before finishing his career at Leeds in 1998. [2]
Collins was previously an assistant coach at the Canberra Raiders, Penrith Panthers and the South Sydney Rabbitohs and was the head coach of the St. George Illawarra Jersey Flegg side.
In 2020, he signed on with the Wests Tigers as the head coach of the NSW Cup side.
In October 2021, Collins was signed by St Marys Saints to coach their Ron Massey Cup team in the 2022 season. [3] [4]
The Western Suburbs Magpies is an Australian rugby league football club based in the western suburbs of Sydney, New South Wales. Formed in 1908, Wests, as the club is commonly referred to, was one of the nine foundation clubs of the first New South Wales Rugby League competition in Australia. Cabramatta Two Blues, colloquially known as Cabra, is an Australian rugby league football club that was originally formed in 1919 and then later completely formed as the Two Blues in 1939. The St Marys Saints are an Australian rugby league club who were formed in 1908. They were the founding Member of the Penrith District Rugby League. They have previously competed in the NSWRL Jim Beam Cup, winning three titles in the 1990s and in the NSWRL Premier League/State League as a former joint-venture club with their local rivals, the Penrith Panthers from 2002 until 2007. For a brief time, the Saints were known as the Cougars in the NSWRL Jim Beam Cup. The club has since returned to its original name.

A New Zealand international representative winger, he played his club football in Australia for Sydney's Western Suburbs Magpies, Eastern Suburbs Roosters, South Sydney Rabbitohs, Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and the Penrith Panthers as well as in England for Salford. Williams played 145 games in the Australian competition from 1987–88 and 1991–98, scoring a total of 63 tries and winning the 1995 ARL Premiership with the Canterbury club. Williams played in 12 test matches for New Zealand between 1991 and 1995, scoring one try. He played in one non-test international on the 1993 Kiwis tour against Wales and two World Cup matches.
