Wayne Haag

Wayne Haag is an Australian artist and illustrator, mainly of science fiction works. [1] [2]

He has worked in film and television in Australia, USA and New Zealand. He was a matte painter for the television series Farscape Season 1 and for the first two The Lord of the Rings films, [3] amongst other work. He also creates concept art for film projects. [4] [5]

Haag created the cover art for six novels and three ebooks by Australian writer Matthew Reilly, starting with Seven Ancient Wonders .

Haag also contributes interior and cover illustrations for TTA Press, Interzone (magazine). [6]

He has also been a lead concept designer for several notable video game franchises. Freeman currently lives with his wife in upstate New Hampshire.

Tolkien's artwork was a key element of his creativity from the time when he began to write fiction. The philologist and author J. R. R. Tolkien prepared illustrations for his Middle-earth fantasy books, facsimile artefacts, more or less "picturesque" maps, calligraphy, and sketches and paintings from life. Some of his artworks combined several of these elements to support his fiction.
