Wayne Harris Jr. (born October 30, 1959 [1] ) is a former Canadian football linebacker and was the head coach for the University of Calgary's football team, the Calgary Dinos, from 2015 to 2023. [2]
Harris played CIAU football for the Calgary Dinosaurs as a linebacker.
Harris was drafted in the seventh round, 60th overall, by the Calgary Stampeders in the 1981 CFL Draft. [3] He played in one season for the Stampeders, in 1982. [1]
Harris became Calgary's head coach on February 12, 2015, after serving as defensive coordinator for the Dinos for four years and as an assistant coach for three separate stints between 1989 and 2014. [4] In his first season, in 2015, he won the Frank Tindall Trophy. He later led the team to a Vanier Cup championship in 2019. [5] On November 2, 2023, Harris announced his retirement after compiling a 41–21 record as head coach, along with three Hardy Cup championships and one Vanier Cup championship. [5]

Harris is the son of Canadian Football Hall of Famer Wayne Harris. [4]
Pasquale "Wally" Buono is a Canadian ex-football coach currently working as the vice president of football operations, alternate governor and the former head coach of the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL), and one of the most successful head coaches in league history. He has spent 22 years as head coach of the Calgary Stampeders and the Lions, which is tied for the most seasons coached all-time. On September 19, 2009, Buono became the CFL's all-time winningest coach when his Lions beat the Toronto Argonauts 23–17, giving him 232 regular-season victories, passing Don Matthews. He retired in 2011 with a CFL record 254 regular-season wins as head coach, to focus on duties as general manager for the Lions. In 2016, Buono came out of retirement to coach the Lions again through the 2018 season. In the final home game of the 2018 season, Buono was honored with the Bob Ackles Award as he was retiring from football with the most wins as a coach.
Carroll Wayne Harris was an American professional football player who was a linebacker for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL) from 1961 through 1972. His son, Wayne Harris, Jr., coaches football and also played for the Stampeders of the CFL.
Jabari Arthur is a Canadian football coach who serves as the offensive coordinator for the Calgary Dinos of U Sports football. He is a former professional wide receiver who played for eight years in the Canadian Football League (CFL). The Calgary Dinos football team represents the University of Calgary in the sport of Canadian football in U Sports. The Dinos program has been in operation since 1964, winning the Vanier Cup national championship five times, the most out of any of the Canada West teams. The Dinos have also won the Hardy Trophy conference championship 18 times, including six consecutive wins from 2008 to 2013. The team appeared in the 2013 and 2016 Vanier Cup, but lost both years to the Laval Rouge et Or.
