Career

John Duignan and Conall Ó Breacháin met in college. They founded We Cut Corners in 2011. [5] Their influences include Ryan Adams, Vampire Weekend and Leonard Cohen. [6] Their first three studio albums were all nominated for the Choice Music Prize. [7]

Formed as a side project by Richie Egan whilst part of The Redneck Manifesto, they have released five albums to date; Cosmosphere (2003), The Monkeys in the Zoo Have More Fun Than Me (2004), Ritual (2008), Ocean of Frequency (2011), and This Chemical Sea (2015). Jape's wider discography includes the EP, Jape is Grape (2007), as well as a number of singles, including "Floating" and "Phil Lynott". The band have performed at festivals and events such as Glastonbury, Electric Picnic, Lovebox and Hard Working Class Heroes and provided support for The Flaming Lips at Belsonic in Belfast in August 2008.

The Rubberbandits are an Irish comedy hip-hop duo from Limerick city. They consist of Blindboy Boatclub and Mr Chrome. During performances and interviews, they conceal their identities with masks made from plastic shopping bags. They are often accompanied by DJ Willie O'DJ, a silent masked caricature of local politician Willie O'Dea. The group describe themselves as artists, and have dubbed their movement as "Gas Cuntism".

Daithí Ó Drónaí is an Irish musician and producer, best known for producing electronic music inspired by Irish culture under the artist name "Daithí". He debuted in 2009 as a participant on All Ireland Talent Show. Since then, Daithí has developed a successful music career in Ireland, releasing an album with Sony Music Entertainment and independently releasing a range of E.P.s. Two of his singles, "Chameleon Life" and "Mary Keanes Introduction" were nominated for the Choice Music Prize.

Buildings is the debut album by Northern Ireland trio General Fiasco, and which was released on 22 March 2010. The band launched the album at the Mandela Hall in Belfast on the night of 21 March. The album appeared briefly at number 77 in the UK Albums Chart.

Pillow Queens are an Irish indie rock band from Dublin, formed in 2016. The band is composed of co-lead vocalists Sarah Corcoran and Pamela Connolly, lead guitarist Cathy McGuiness and drummer Rachel Lyons. The instrumental roles of Corcoran and Connolly switch around depending on which of them is performing lead vocals – if a song features Corcoran on lead vocals, for example, then she will play rhythm guitar and Connolly will play bass, and vice versa for Connolly's songs.
