Welk Music Group is an American record company comprising Ranwood Records. It was founded by Lawrence Welk and is still owned by the Welk Family. The company evolved from when Welk's Teleklew Productions acquired Harry Von Tilzer Music in 1957. [1] [2] [3]

Welk Music sold its music publishing business to PolyGram International Music Publishing in 1988. This included T. B. Harms, Hall-Clement, and Harry Von Tilzer Music. [4]

On April 1, 2015, Concord Records acquired both Vanguard Records and Sugar Hill Records from Welk Music Group. [5]

PolyGram N.V. was an entertainment company and major music record label formerly based in the Netherlands. It was founded in 1962 as the Grammophon-Philips Group by Dutch corporation Philips and German corporation Siemens, to be a holding for their record companies, and was renamed "PolyGram" in 1972. The name was chosen to reflect the Siemens interest Polydor Records and the Philips interest Phonogram Records. The company traced its origins through Deutsche Grammophon back to the inventor of the flat disc gramophone, Emil Berliner.

ABC Records was an American record label founded in New York City in 1955. It originated as the main popular music label operated by the Am-Par Record Corporation. Am-Par also created the Impulse! jazz label in 1960. It acquired many labels before ABC was sold to MCA Records in 1979. ABC produced music in a variety of genres: pop, rock, jazz, country, rhythm and blues, soundtrack, gospel, and polka. In addition to producing records, ABC licensed masters from independent record producers, and purchased regionally released records for national distribution.

Vanguard Records

Vanguard Records is an American record label set up in 1950 by brothers Maynard and Seymour Solomon in New York City. It was a primarily classical label at its peak in the 1950s and 1960s, but also has a catalogue of recordings by a number of pivotal jazz, folk, and blues musicians. The Bach Guild was a subsidiary label.

Rounder Records is an independent record label founded in 1970 in Somerville, Massachusetts by Marian Leighton Levy, Ken Irwin, and Bill Nowlin. Ranwood Records

Ranwood Records was an American record label started in 1968 by Randy Wood and Lawrence Welk. Lawrence Welk owned all of the recordings that he released on Dot as they were produced and manufactured by Teleklew Productions and leased to Dot. These were repackaged for reissue on Ranwood. Lawrence did not own or buy those recordings he made for Coral and they continue to be owned by Universal Music.

The Bicycle Music Company was a music publishing company founded independently, and after growing for a number of years was merged with Concord Music Group in 2015. As of 2010, it owned or administered over 12,000 works from songwriters.

Concord (entertainment company)

Concord is an independent creative rights company that develops, manages and acquires sound recordings, music publishing rights and theatrical performance rights. It is a private company, funded by long-term institutional capital and members of Concord’s management team. As of the beginning of 2021, the company has approximately 600 staff members in Los Angeles, New York, Nashville (headquarters), London, Berlin and Miami.
