Well-Deserved Obscurity is the third studio album by the American country music duo The Warren Brothers. It was released in 2004 via 429 Records. The album followed two charting singles on BNA Records: "Hey Mr. President" and "Break the Record," which respectively reached #28 and #54 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. [1] "Sell a Lot of Beer" was the first single from Well-Deserved Obscurity, reaching #51. It was followed by "Change" which did not chart.

Country music, also known as country and western, and hillbilly music, is a genre of popular music that originated in the southern United States in the early 1920s. It takes its roots from genres such as folk music and blues.

The Warren Brothers is an American country music duo composed of brothers Brett Warren and Brad Warren. The duo has released three studio albums: Beautiful Day in the Cold Cruel World (1998) and King of Nothing (2000) on BNA Records, as well as Well Deserved Obscurity (2004) on Sig/429 and a 2005 compilation album, Barely Famous Hits. These four albums have produced nine charting singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, with the highest being "Move On" at No. 17 in late 2000-early 2001. Brad and Brett have also co-written singles for Dierks Bentley, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, and Martina McBride.

429 Records is an American record label. It is a subsidiary label of Savoy Label Group/Nippon Columbia focusing on indie rock and adult album alternative performers. In addition to releasing new material from musicians such as Dr. John, Little Feat, Cracker, and Gin Blossoms, the label has released several compilation albums, including Endless Highway: The Music of The Band and A Song for My Father, a set of recordings of songs by sons and daughters of the original artists.

Jason MacNeil of Allmusic gave the album three-and-a-half stars out of five, saying that it showed the duo's rock and roots influences. [2]

Like pop music, lyrics often stress romantic love but also address a wide variety of other themes that are frequently social or political.
