Reverend T. Wendell Foster (February 14,1924 - September 3,2019) was an American politician who served on the New York City Council from 1978 to 2001. [1] He was the first Black elected city official in the Bronx. [2] [3] The Rev. T. Wendell Foster Park and Recreation Center,formerly Mullaly Park,is named after him. [4]
The New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) is a botanical garden at Bronx Park in the Bronx,New York City. Established in 1891,it is located on a 250-acre (100 ha) site that contains a landscape with over one million living plants;the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory,a greenhouse containing several habitats;and the LuEsther T. Mertz Library,which contains one of the world's largest collections of botany-related texts. As of 2016,over a million people visit the New York Botanical Garden annually.
Norwood,also known as Bainbridge,is a working-class residential neighborhood in the northwest Bronx,New York City. It is bound by Van Cortlandt Park and Woodlawn Cemetery to the north,the Bronx River to the east,and Mosholu Parkway to the southwest. The area is dominated topographically by what was once Valentine's Hill,the highest point being near the intersection of 210th Street and Bainbridge Avenue,where Gun Hill Road intersects,and around the Montefiore Medical Center,the largest landowner and employer of the neighborhood. Norwood's main commercial arteries are Gun Hill Road,Jerome Avenue,Webster Avenue,and Bainbridge Avenue.
Rodman's Neck refers to a peninsula of land in the New York City borough of the Bronx that juts out into Long Island Sound. The southern third of the peninsula is used as a firing range by the New York City Police Department;the remaining wooded section is part of Pelham Bay Park. The north side is joined to what used to be Hunters Island and Twin Island to form Orchard Beach and a parking lot.
Adolfo Carrión Jr. is an American businessman and former elected official from City Island. He has three sisters Elizabeth Carrión-Stevens,Damaris Carrión-Harris and Lizette Carrión. He served one term as a member of the New York City Council,representing the 14th district. He served for seven years as the borough president of the Bronx,for a year and five months as the first director of the White House Office of Urban Affairs in the Obama Administration,and then for nearly two years as Regional Administrator for HUD's New York and New Jersey Regional Office. He left HUD in February 2012.
Gaelic Park is a multi-purpose outdoor athletics facility,located at West 240th Street and Broadway in Riverdale,Bronx,in New York City in the U.S. state of New York. Since 1926 the grounds has been used as the venue for Gaelic games in New York,and since its purchase by Manhattan College in 1991 it has hosted numerous American college athletic events.

Helen Diane Foster represented District 16 in the New York City Council,which comprises the neighborhoods of Morrisania,Highbridge,and Morris Heights for 11 years. She was the first Black woman to be elected within Bronx County. She served as the commissioner for the New York State Division of Human Rights from September 2013 until April 2019 and was appointed to the post by Governor Andrew Cuomo.

After coming to the United States,he worked for the New York Herald,the New York Tribune,and the New York Evening Post. He was the editor of the Metropolitan Record,published by the Catholic Church in New York City.

St. James Park is a public park in Fordham,Bronx,New York City. It is located in between Jerome Avenue and Creston Avenue. New York City purchased the land on September 13,1897,graded it,and created the park. It is named after the neighboring St. James' Episcopal Church and Parish House. A recreation center,originally for senior citizens,was built in the park in 1974.
Seton Falls Park is a 36-acre (15 ha) wooded area in the Edenwald area of The Bronx in New York City. The park is named after the Seton family,who owned the land in the 19th century.
Rattlesnake Creek is an underground waterway in the northeast Bronx,New York City. It flowed above ground level until the mid-20th century,with a waterfall and a pond over its course. Rattlesnake Creek has since been mostly covered over,but a small portion of it is still visible in Seton Falls Park.
Eric Dinowitz is an American teacher and politician. Dinowitz represents the 11th district of the New York City Council. Dinowitz is a registered Democrat. Dinowitz was elected in a special election held on March 23,2021,after the resignation of Andrew Cohen,who was elected to the New York Supreme Court. Dinowitz assumed office on April 15,2021 after weeks of the New York City Board of Elections counting ranked-choice voting ballots which were instituted for municipal elections beginning in 2021.
