Wesley P. Andrus (February 19,1834 – 1898) was a Michigan politician.
Andrus was born on February 19,1834,in Potter,New York. [1]
In 1861,Andrus joined the 42nd Illinois Infantry Regiment,where he was promoted to the rank of captain from the rank first lieutenant. Andrus was wounded at the battle of Missionary Ridge,and was discharged due to disability in May 1864. [1]
On November 7,1876,Andrus was elected to the Michigan Senate where he represented the 25th district from January 3,1877,to 1878. [1] [2]
Andrus died in 1898 in Cedar Springs,Michigan. [1]

He has served as head coach for the Amsterdam Admirals of the NFL Europe League (NFLEL) from 2001 to 2007,the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL) in 2009,and the Omaha Nighthawks of the United Football League (UFL) in 2012 compiling a career record of 40 wins and 54 losses. The 1909 College Football All-America team is composed of college football players who were selected as All-Americans for the 1909 college football season. The 1984–85 Michigan Wolverines men's basketball team represented the University of Michigan in intercollegiate college basketball during the 1984–85 season. The team played its home games in the Crisler Arena in Ann Arbor,Michigan,and was a member of the Big Ten Conference. Under the direction of head coach Bill Frieder,the team won the Big Ten Conference by a four game margin. The team earned the number one seed in the 1985 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament where it advanced one round before losing. Although the team began the season unranked it was in the Associated Press Top Twenty Poll a total of twelve of the seventeen weeks,including a peak of number two where it ended the season,and it also ended the season ranked number two in the final UPI Coaches' Poll. During the season,the team led the Big Ten Conference in scoring margin (8.8) and Roy Tarpley led the conference in rebound with a 9.9 average in conference games. Leslie Rockymore and Butch Wade served as team captains and Tarpley earned team MVP. Tarpley earned 1985 NCAA All-American recognition.
The Wesley Wolverines football program was the intercollegiate American football team for Wesley College located in Dover,Delaware. The team last competed in the NCAA Division III and were members of the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Wesley football program was founded in 1888,being one of the first teams to play in Delaware. The program did not play from 1890–1892,1911–1925,and 1932–1952. After more than 130 years in existence,Wesley football was discontinued in 2021.
