Subhumans are an English punk rock band formed in the Warminster and Melksham area of Wiltshire in 1980. Singer Dick Lucas had formerly been in another local band, The Mental, and other members had been in The Stupid Humans. The band's musical style is typically classified as hardcore punk or anarcho-punk.
Gerald Richard Hannah was the bass player for the Canadian punk rock group The Subhumans and was also a member of the armed revolutionary group Direct Action, also known as the Squamish Five and the Vancouver Five.
Against All Authority was an American punk band, formed in Florida in 1992. Playing in the ska punk style, their business practice follows a stringent DIY ethic. Since their disbandment, guitarist and songwriter Joe Koontz has started a custom guitar business and record label A Jam Records with friend Dave Santos. The Black Album was the fourth album by the Damned, and the first to feature Paul Gray on bass guitar. It was released in 3 November 1980 on Chiswick as a double album, with "Curtain Call" filling the whole of side 3, and a selection of live tracks recorded at Shepperton Studios for Damned fan club members on side 4. The song "13th Floor Vendetta" paid tribute to the film The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971), opening with the lyrics "...the organ plays to midnight on Maldine Square tonight".
The Day the Country Died is the debut studio album by English anarcho-punk band Subhumans. It was recorded in five days in June 1982 and was released in January 1983 through Spiderleg Records. The album was later re-released via Bluurg, the band's own record label.
"Subhuman" is a 1995 song written, recorded and produced by alternative rock band Garbage, and was originally released as an international b-side on "Vow", Garbage's debut single. That song had earlier been pressed as a limited edition 7" vinyl in the United Kingdom for the purposes of launching the band; when it came to re-releasing "Vow", Mushroom Records felt that "Subhuman" was strong enough to be issued as an A-side to follow up "Vow". A last-minute decision was made to switch the songs. "Vow" was relegated to bonus track on the CD single.

Time Flies...but Aeroplanes Crash is the fifth EP by the anarcho-punk band Subhumans. Unlike their previous EP's, "Time Flies..." was released as a 12" record, and features both live and studio tracks - the live tracks being taken from an aborted live album, recorded at Feltham Football Club. The record also features the piano-based song "Susan", written by Steve Hamilton - a friend of vocalist Dick.
Killed by Death is a series of bootleg albums compiling rare punk rock songs primarily from the late 1970s and early 1980s. The first four of these compilations,, were issued in 1989 by the Swedish label Redrum Records and featured tracks by obscure North American and European punk groups, as well as a few more well-known acts such as The Wipers, Zero Boys, Subhumans and the Beastie Boys. In the years since the release of these first compilations, more than 50 other albums have been added to the series by various anonymous publishers.
