"West" is a rock song by the indie rock band The Alice Rose, composed by JoDee Purkeypile, and released on the 2006 album Phonographic Memory . It was named NPR's "Song of the Day" on November 27, 2006. David Brown, host of KUT FM's "Texas Music Matters", called the song "oddly warm and instantly memorable". [1] In 2008, the song was featured in the award-winning indie horror film Splinter by director Toby Wilkins. [2]

"What the Hell Have I" is a song by the American rock band Alice in Chains. It was originally featured on the soundtrack to the 1993 John McTiernan film Last Action Hero starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. The song was released as a single and peaked at No. 19 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. It was included on the compilation album Nothing Safe: Best of the Box (1999). A remixed version of the song was included on the compilation albums Music Bank (1999) and The Essential Alice in Chains (2006).

The record's 10 songs, written by the lead vocalist JoDee Purkeypile, draw heavily from 1960s' rock and 1980s' power pop influences.

It is the last release to feature guitarist Gregg White. Only 100 copies of the vinyl EP were pressed, although the band made the entire release available as a digital download to their fanclub.
