Veterans Stadium was a multi-purpose stadium in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States, at the northeast corner of Broad Street and Pattison Avenue, part of the South Philadelphia Sports Complex. The seating capacities were 65,358 for football, and 56,371 for baseball.
Richard Albert Vermeil is an American former football coach who served as a head coach in the National Football League (NFL) for 15 seasons. He was the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles for seven seasons, the St. Louis Rams for three, and the Kansas City Chiefs for five. Prior to the NFL, he was the head football coach at Hillsdale High School from 1960 to 1962, Napa Junior College in 1964, and UCLA from 1974 to 1975. With UCLA, Vermeil led the team to victory in the 1976 Rose Bowl. Vermeil's NFL tenure would see him improve the fortunes of teams that had a losing record before he arrived and bring them all to the playoffs by his third season, which included a Super Bowl title with the Rams.

Herb Magee, commonly referred to as the Shot Doctor, is an American former men's college basketball coach, who coached for 54 seasons at NCAA Division II Thomas Jefferson University. The school was established in its current form when Philadelphia University, Magee's alma mater, merged with the original Thomas Jefferson University in 2017. The former Philadelphia University was known as Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science and athletically branded as "Philadelphia Textile" when Magee first became head coach in 1967, becoming Philadelphia University in 1999. He has spent 54 years as head coach, and 62 years as either a player or coach at the school as of 2021. In 2015, he achieved his 1,000th win as a head coach, becoming one of only four college coaches to achieve that milestone. On August 12, 2011, Magee was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
George Haydock Brooke was an American college football player and coach. He played football as a fullback at Swarthmore College from 1889 to 1892 and at the University of Pennsylvania from 1893 to 1895. Brooke served as the head football coach at Stanford University (1897), Swarthmore (1900–1912), and Penn (1913–1915), compiling a career coaching record of 90–46–10. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a player in 1969.

The Shepherd Rams are the athletic teams that represent Shepherd University, located in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, in Division II intercollegiate sports of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Rams compete as members of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) for all 15 varsity sports since the 2019–20 academic year. They previously competed in the Mountain East Conference (MEC) from 2013–14 to 2018–19, and before that, the now-defunct West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) from 1924–25 to 2012–13.
John Albert Bloomingston was an American attorney and football and baseball player and coach. He played at the fullback position for the University of Michigan football teams in 1894 and 1895. He was the leading scorer on the 1895 Michigan Wolverines football team that outscored opponents 266 to 14 and won the school's first Western football championship. He scored as many as 32 points in a single game. The Wolverines compiled a record of 17–2–1 in Bloomingston's two years as the starting fullback and never lost a game against a Western team. After graduating from Michigan, he became one of the best known trial lawyers in Chicago, where he practiced for more than 40 years.

The 2017 West Chester Golden Rams football team represented West Chester University in member of the East Division of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) during the 2017 NCAA Division II football season. Led by 15th-year head coach Bill Zwaan, the Golden Rams compiled an overall record of 9–4 with a mark of 6–1 in conference play, sharing the PSAC East Division title with Shippensburg. West Chester advanced to the PSAC Championship Game, where the Golden Rams lost to IUP. The team received a bid to the NCAA Division II Football Championship playoffs, beating Shippensburg in the first round before again losing to IUP in the second round.

Charles "Duke" Greco is an American college football coach and former player. He is the head football coach for West Chester University, a position he has held since 2024. He was the head football coach at Delaware Valley University from 2014 to 2023. Greco played college football at Delaware Valley, first as a defensive back and then as a quarterback. He threw for 3,974 yards and 45 touchdowns during his career as a player at Delaware Valley. Greco served as assistant head coach and offensive coordinator for the Aggies for eights years, from 2006 to 2013, under Jim Clements before succeeding him as head coach when Clements left to become the head football coach at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. Greco left Delaware Valley University after the 2023 season to become the head coach at West Chester University, effective January 22, 2024.
The 1946 West Chester Golden Rams football team was an American football team that represented West Chester State Teachers College as a member of the Pennsylvania State Teachers College Conference (PSTCC) during the 1946 college football season. In their 10th year under head coach Glenn Killinger, the Golden Rams compiled an overall record of 9–1 with a mark of 2–1 in conference play, tying for third place in the PSTCC. The team outscored its opponents by a total of 187 to 33.
Jad Prachinak is a baseball coach and former pitcher, who is the current head baseball coach of the North Alabama Lions. He played college baseball at Rhode Island from 2001 to 2004. He served as the head coach of the West Chester Golden Rams (2012–2020).
The 1960 West Chester Golden Rams football team was an American football team that represented West Chester State College as a member of the East Division of the Pennsylvania State College Conference (PSCC) during the 1960 NCAA College Division football season. In their first year under head coach James Bonder, the Golden Rams compiled a perfect 9–0 record, won the PSCC championship, and outscored opponents by a total of 311 to 68. They were ranked fifth in the final AP small college poll.
The 1947 West Chester Golden Rams football team represented West Chester State Teachers College—now known as West Chester University—as a member of the Pennsylvania State Teachers College Conference (PSTCC) during the 1947 college football season. Led by 11th-year head coach Glenn Killinger, the Golden Rams compiled an overall record of 10–1 with a mark of 3–0 in conference play. West Chester finished the season tied with Slippery Rock for the best record in the conference, but neither team was eligible for the conference title as neither had played the required four conference games. Mansfield won the conference title. Golden Rams played in two postseason bowl games, the Burley Bowl on Thanksgiving—where West Chester beat Carson–Newman—and the Cigar Bowl on New Year's Day, where the team suffered its first and only defeat of the season, against Missouri Valley.
