West High School is a public high school located in Bakersfield, California, United States. The school serves about 2,000 students in grades 9 to 12 in the Kern High School District. [2]

The school has been accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges—for the first time in 1969 and most recently in 2020, for a fixed term after each evaluation. [3]

Brock Elliot Marion is an American former professional football player who is currently the defensive backs coach for the Michigan Panthers of the United Football League (UFL). He was a free safety for 12 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). After playing college football for the Nevada Wolf Pack, he was chosen in the seventh round of the 1993 NFL draft by the Dallas Cowboys. He also played for the Miami Dolphins and the Detroit Lions, and was a three-time Pro Bowler with the Dolphins. He is the son of NFL player Jerry Marion.

Vincent Karchi Fong is an American politician who has served as the U.S. representative for California's 20th congressional district since 2024. A member of the Republican Party, he previously represented the California's 32nd State Assembly district, encompassing parts of the Central Valley. Prior to his election to the Assembly in 2016, Fong served as district director to then-Minority Leader and Congressman Kevin McCarthy.

Gabriel John Crecion is a former American football tight end and defensive lineman. Originally from Northridge, California, he played college football at UCLA. After going undrafted in the 2001 NFL draft, Crecion began his professional football career as a two-way offensive and defensive lineman with the Bakersfield Blitz of af2 in 2002. Returning to his primary position of tight end, he signed with the San Francisco 49ers in 2003 and played for the Barcelona Dragons of NFL Europe that year. In 2004, Crecion made his NFL debut with the 49ers, appearing in one game.
