Suldal is a municipality in the northeast corner of Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Ryfylke. Since 1965, the administrative centre of Suldal is the village of Sand i Ryfylke. Other villages in Suldal include Haugsland, Jelsa, Marvik, Nesflaten, and Suldalsosen.
Alf Prøysen was a Norwegian author, poet, playwright, songwriter and musician. Prøysen was one of the most important Norwegian cultural personalities in the second half of the 20th century. He worked in several different media including books, newspapers and records. He also made significant contributions to music as well as to television and radio. He also wrote in the Arbeiderbladet from 1954 until his death.
Åsgårdstrand is a small port town in Horten Municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. The town is located along the shore of the Ytre Oslofjord, about 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) south of the town of Horten, about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) to the north of the town of Tønsberg, and about 100 kilometres (62 mi) south of the capital city of Oslo. The villages of Borre and Skoppum both lie a short distance northwest of Åsgårdstrand.

Årdal is a former municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The 558-square-kilometre (215 sq mi) municipality existed from 1859 until 1965. It stretched from the head of the Årdalsfjorden in the west to the county border in the east. It encompassed the southern half of the present-day Hjelmeland Municipality. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Årdal where the Old Årdal Church is located.

Høstutstillingen or Statens kunstutstilling is an annual art exhibition in Oslo, Norway. The exhibition is Norway's largest marking of contemporary art and takes place each autumn. Den nasjonale jury, which is responsible for the assessment of the submitted work, consists of a technician in each of the techniques painting, sculpture, graphics, drawing, textile, and other techniques.

The Southern Norway Exhibition is an annual traveling exhibition of Norwegian contemporary art. It is open to visual artists from Southern Norway plus Telemark county.
The Eastern Norway Exhibition is a traveling regional exhibition of Norwegian contemporary art open to artists from Akershus, Buskerud, Hedmark, Oppland, Oslo, Østfold, and Vestfold counties. The exhibitions comprise about 60 works that are selected by a jury and divided into three categories: two-dimensional, three-dimensional, and audiovisual works. The Eastern Norway Exhibition is organized in equal part by district artists' organizations in Eastern Norway and it is financed by the counties in the region through the Eastern Norwegian County Network. It is held in three to four different places in Eastern Norway. The exhibition was first held in 1979.
Niels Larsen Bruun was a Norwegian officer who served in the Royal Norwegian Navy for more than four decades. Bruun took part in neutrality protection duties during the First World War, seeing service on several naval vessels and assuming his first command. He continued his service in the inter-war years, teaching at naval schools in addition to shipboard service.
Guttorm Guttormsgaard was a Norwegian visual artist, educator and collector.
