Westview (stylized as westview) is the 6th full album released by MONKEY MAJIK on February 2, 2011 in celebration of their 10-year anniversary. Westview is a follow-up album to their album eastview released in 2005. Most of the tracks recorded for westview were recorded in Greece. [1] The song "Sunshine" was used as the opening song for the anime "ぬらりひょんの孫 (Nurarihyon no Mago)." [2]

Monkey Majik is a pop rock band formed in 2000 in Sendai, Japan. The band consists of Canadian brothers, Maynard Plant and Blaise Plant, each acting as lead vocalists and guitarists, and two Japanese members: Tax on drums, and Dick on bass. Monkey Majik is signed to Binyl Records, a subsidiary of Avex Records.

"Gandhara" is a song by Japanese rock band Godiego, serving as their 7th single. "Gandhara" was used as the ending theme song for the first season of the television drama Saiyūki, known in the English speaking world as Monkey. "Gandhara" was originally released in Japan on October 1, 1978, but it was later released in the United Kingdom in 1980 to coincide with the British broadcast of Monkey. "Gandhara" reached number 2 on both the Oricon and The Best Ten charts in Japan, while the British release reached 56 on the UK Singles Chart.

Somewhere Out There is the 7th full album released by MONKEY MAJIK on March 7, 2012. The album itself is a dedication to Sendai and all of those affected by the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, with songs that are reflective of this theme. The lead single from the album is "Headlight", followed by "HERO". "Ki wo Ueta Otoko" was released in 2011 as a digital charity single for the earthquakes.
