2017 ASEAN Para Games

The 2017 ASEAN Para Games, officially known as the 9th ASEAN Para Games, was a Southeast Asian disabled multi-sport event held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 17 days after the 2017 Southeast Asian Games from 17 to 23 September 2017. This was the third time Malaysia host the ASEAN Para Games and its first time since 2009. Previously, Malaysia also hosted the inaugural games in 2001.

Shingo Kunieda Japanese wheelchair tennis player

Shingo Kunieda is a Japanese wheelchair tennis player. Kunieda is a right-handed player whose favorite surface is hard court. He is coached by Hiromichi Maruyama. He is a former world number one wheelchair tennis player and was the ITF World Champion from 2007 to 2010. He was also the Year End Number One in doubles in 2007. In 2007, 2009, 2010, 2014, and 2015 Kunieda achieved the Grand Slam in singles. In 2007 and 2008, Kunieda won three of the four Masters series events. Kunieda is the only player to retain the men's singles title at the Paralympic Games. In addition, Kunieda won the gold medal in the doubles of the Paralympics in 2004, and has been part of two World Team Cup wins.

Lucy Shuker is a British wheelchair tennis player who is currently the highest ranked woman in the sport in Britain. A previous singles & doubles National Champion, Lucy has represented Great Britain at three successive Paralympic Games, twice winning a Bronze Medal in the women's doubles and is former World Doubles Champion and World Team Cup Silver Medallist amongst a number of other National and International successes.

Dylan Alcott Australian Wheelchair basketball player

Dylan Martin Alcott, is an Australian wheelchair basketballer, wheelchair tennis player, radio host and motivational speaker. Alcott was a member of the Australia men's national wheelchair basketball team, known colloquially as the Australian "Rollers". At the age of 17 he became the youngest Australian "Rollers" wheelchair basketball gold medal winner for wheelchair basketball, and was the youngest to compete in the Wheelchair Basketball competition. In 2014, he returned to wheelchair tennis with the aiming of participating at the 2016 Rio Paralympics. At the 2016 Rio Paralympics, he won gold medals in the Men's Quad Singles and Doubles. He was named the 2016 Australian Paralympian of the Year due to his outstanding achievements at Rio Paralympics. Alongside his sporting career, he hosted the weekend afternoon radio show on Australian radio station Triple J, and the ABC live music show The Set, as well as being a commentator for the 2019 Australian Open.

Daniela Di Toro Australian wheelchair tennis player

Daniela Di Toro is an Australian Wheelchair tennis player. Di Toro was the 2010 French Open doubles champion and has also been the Masters double champion. In singles Di Toro is the former world number one and two time masters finalist. In 2015, she moved to para-table tennis and represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics. She was team captain with Kurt Fearnley.

Anthony Bonaccurso is a Paralympic alpine skier and tennis player competitor from Australia. He won a bronze medal at the 2004 Athens Games in the Men's Doubles event. He is one of the few Australian Paralympians to compete at both Summer and Winter Games.

2020 Summer Paralympics 2020 edition of the Summer Paralympics

The 2020 Summer Paralympics are an upcoming major international multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities governed by the International Paralympic Committee. Scheduled as the 16th Summer Paralympic Games, it is planned to be held in Tokyo, Japan from 25 August to 6 September 2020. This will mark the second time Tokyo has hosted the Paralympics, as they were first hosted there in 1964 alongside the 1964 Summer Olympics.

Wheelchair tennis was contested at the 2011 Parapan American Games from November 13 to 18 at the Telcel Tennis Complex in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Jiske Griffioen is a Dutch former wheelchair tennis player. Griffioen is a thirteen-time Grand Slam champion in doubles and a three-time Paralympic medalist. She is also a seven-time Masters doubles champion and a former world number one. Alongside Aniek van Koot, Griffioen completed the Grand Slam in doubles in the 2013 season. In singles competition Griffioen is the 2012 Masters champion and the 2015 Australian Open, French Open and Masters champion and a former world number one.

Stefan Olsson is a Swedish Wheelchair tennis player. Olsson is the former world number two singles player. He has won two Grand Slam titles in doubles, the 2009 US Open and the 2010 Wimbledon titles, and two in singles, at Wimbledon in 2017 and 2018. Olsson has won both the singles and doubles events at the year end Masters and is one half of the reigning men's doubles champion at the Paralympic Games. He started playing tennis aged seven.

Adam Kellerman Australian wheelchair tennis player

Adam Kellerman is an Australian wheelchair tennis player. When he was thirteen years old, he was diagnosed with a form of cancer called Ewings Sarcoma. He represented Australia at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in the men's singles and doubles wheelchair tennis events. As of 21 July 2016 he is ranked Number 1 in Australia and Number 11 in the World for Men's Single Wheelchair Tennis. He competed for Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics.

Heath Arthur Davidson, is an Australian quad wheelchair tennis player. He represented Australia in at the 2016 Rio Paralympics, where he teamed up with Dylan Alcott to win the Men's Quad Doubles gold medal.

Chantal Vandierendonck is a Dutch wheelchair tennis player. Vandierendonck won various wheelchair tennis championships held by the International Tennis Federation and multiple Paralympic medals from 1988 to 1996. She was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2014.

Diede de Groot is a Dutch wheelchair tennis player. De Groot won eight Grand Slam tournaments including back to back women's singles events at Wimbledon from 2017 to 2018. Apart from her Grand Slam wins, De Groot won multiple Wheelchair Tennis Masters titles and a silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
