James Russell Mercer is an American singer-songwriter and musician. He is the founder, vocalist, lead songwriter, and sole remaining original member of the indie rock group The Shins. In 2009, Mercer and producer Danger Mouse formed the side project Broken Bells, for which they released a self-titled album in March 2010, followed by After the Disco in 2014, and then Into the Blue in 2022. Mercer also has acted, appearing in Matt McCormick's feature film Some Days Are Better Than Others, which premiered in 2010.
For Your Own Special Sweetheart is the third album by Washington D.C. post-hardcore band, Jawbox. It was produced by Ted Niceley, best known for his work with Fugazi. This would be the band's major label debut, as they had left Dischord Records to sign with Atlantic Records. It is also the first album to feature Zachary Barocas on drums, as he replaced original drummer Adam Wade two years prior. The album was not much of a commercial success, despite being well received by critics.

The Shins' first studio album in five years, following the release of 2007's Wincing the Night Away, followed major lineup changes in the group: founding members Dave Hernandez, Marty Crandall (keyboards) and Jesse Sandoval (drums) departed in 2009. Mercer deemed it an "aesthetic decision" to part ways with his bandmates, and in the interim, founded side project Broken Bells with Danger Mouse.

Written by band members James Mercer and Brian Burton and produced by the latter, it was originally recorded by the band for their second studio album, After the Disco, where it appears as the second track. It was released as the second single from After the Disco in the United Kingdom on January 7, 2014. This song is included in Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 as part of its soundtrack.
The 1984 Suite is a remix compilation album by the British musician, Mike Oldfield released on 29 January 2016 by Mercury/Virgin EMI. The compilation pulls together tracks from his two 1984 studio albums; Discovery and The Killing Fields. The album is available as part of the Discovery deluxe edition or as a standalone vinyl LP but not as a standalone CD. It has also been released in 5.1 Surround Sound as part of the Discovery deluxe set.
Memory is the fourth studio album by American indie rock band Vivian Girls. It was released on September 20, 2019 by Polyvinyl Record Co., and is the band's first album since their split in 2014 and subsequent reformation.
