Whittenburg Creek is a stream in Crawford County in the U.S. state of Missouri. [1]

The stream headwaters are at 37°52′46″N91°20′34″W / 37.87944°N 91.34278°W / 37.87944; -91.34278 and its confluence with the Meramec River is at 37°59′57″N91°21′07″W / 37.99917°N 91.35194°W / 37.99917; -91.35194 Coordinates: 37°59′57″N91°21′07″W / 37.99917°N 91.35194°W / 37.99917; -91.35194 . [1] The stream source area lies between Steelville and Cherryville. The stream flows generally north passing under Route 19 south of Steelville and under Route 8 just east of Steelville. The stream flows past the historic community of Sankey and on north to join the Meramec at Birds Nest. [2]

Crawford County is a county located in the east-central portion of the U.S. state of Missouri. At the 2010 Census, the population was 24,696. Its county seat is Steelville. The county was organized in 1829 and is named after U.S. Senator William H. Crawford of Georgia.

Cook Station is an unincorporated community in southwest Crawford County, Missouri, United States. It is located on the Meramec River, approximately ten miles south of Steelville, along Missouri Route M.

Wesco is an unincorporated community in southwest Crawford County, Missouri, United States. It is located on the Meramec River, approximately eight miles southwest of Steelville.

Courtois Creek is a 38.6-mile-long (62.1 km) stream in southern Missouri, United States. It shares its name with the nearby town of Courtois and is in the Courtois Hills region of the Missouri Ozarks. According to the information in the Ramsay Place Names File at the University of Missouri, the creek was "doubtless named for some French settler, but his identity has not been ascertained".

Huzzah Creek is a 35.8-mile-long (57.6 km) clear-flowing stream in the southern part of the U.S. state of Missouri. According to the information in the Ramsay Place Names File at the University of Missouri, the creek's name "is evidently derived from" Huzzaus, one of the early French versions of the name of the Osage people.
