Wilhelmina Berendina "Wil" Schuurman (born March 6, 1943, in Amsterdam) is a former Dutch politician who served from 1994 until 1998 in the House of Representatives on behalf of the Centre Democrats.
In her youth, Schuurman was active in the youth organisation of the Communist Party of the Netherlands. She joined the Dutch Labour Party in the 1970s, and later the Centre Party. At the time, she was working at a boutique in The Hague and later became manager at the De Bijenkorf department store.
She moved to the Centre Democrats as secretary to Hans Janmaat, whom she later married. Her leg was amputated after Dutch left-wing terrorists set fire to a hotel in Kedichem on 29 March 1986, when a meeting of the Centre Democrats took place at the hotel. [1] The perpetrators were never caught. In 1990, she joined the municipal council of The Hague on behalf of the Centre Democrats.
In 1994 she was elected to the House of Representatives. She hardly ever took the floor during her time as member of the House of Representatives. Her run for the European Parliament failed.
In the Dutch Parliament building Schuurman received a room on the upper floor, where there was no elevator. [2] She was dependent on security personnel to carry her in order to get to her offices and back to meetings. [2] Schuurman complained that other parliament members laughed at her when she got a prothese. [2]
In 1996, she married Hans Janmaat, leader of the parliamentary party. She lost her seat in the elections of 1998 when the Centre Democrats did not pass the electoral threshold.

Democrats 66 is a social liberal political party in the Netherlands, which positions itself in the centre of the political spectrum. It is a member of the Liberal International (LI) and the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE).
The Centre Democrats was a political party in the Netherlands. Founded in 1984 by members who split out from the Centre Party (CP), the Centre Democrats was joined one month later by the only CP Member of Parliament—Hans Janmaat. Janmaat went on to become the leader of the party, which subsequently became strongly centered on his person. The newly formed Centre Democrats represented the more moderate faction of the Centre Party, but espoused an anti-immigration and nationalist ideology. Their claims of standing in the centre of the political landscape have thus been disputed by political scientists.
General elections were held in the Netherlands on 3 May 1994. The Labour Party emerged as the largest party, winning 37 of the 150 seats in the House of Representatives. The election resulted in significant losses for both the Labour Party and the Christian Democratic Appeal. The two liberal parties, People's Party for Freedom and Democracy and Democrats 66 made large gains, whilst two pro-elderly parties and the Socialist Party all passed the electoral threshold to win seats.

Between 1999 and 2009, she was a Member of the European Parliament, and sat on the European Parliament's Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs. In 2019 she was exposed as one of the members of the secret Bilderberg meeting.

The Centre Party was a Dutch nationalist extreme right-wing political party espousing an anti-immigrant program. The party was founded by Henry Brookman in 1980, and was represented by Hans Janmaat in the Dutch House of Representatives from 1982, until he was expelled from the party in 1984 and joined the more moderate Centre Democrats. The CP, as well as the CD, was subject to a cordon sanitaire by the other parties in the House of Representatives. After much infighting and finally legal proceedings against the party, it was declared bankrupt in 1986. The party was soon after succeeded by the Centre Party '86, which would become increasingly radical, until it was banned in 1998.
Else "Els" Borst-Eilers was a Dutch politician of the Democrats 66 (D66) party and physician. She was granted the honorary title of Minister of State on 21 December 2012.

The Centre Party '86, briefly known as the National People's Party/CP'86 was a Dutch far-right political party which existed between 1986 and 1998. The party represented the importance of indigenous Dutch society. The CP'86 acted as a kind of threshold and continuation of the old Centre Party. The CP'86 was established on May 20, 1986 and dissolved on 18 November 1998, before an Amsterdam court ruled the party to be illegal.

Jorien Wuite is a Sint Maarten-Dutch civil servant, diplomat, and politician. Born in The Hague, she moved to Sint Maarten aged 32 to work in government. She rose to the position of Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports and served as Minister Plenipotentiary of Sint Maarten in the period 2018–19. She moved back to the European part of the Netherlands due to her election to the House of Representatives in 2021 as a member of the social liberal party Democrats 66 (D66).

She previously held a seat in the municipal council of The Hague (2014–2021) and worked for the D66 caucus in the House of Representatives (2010–2018).
Simone Kerseboom is a Dutch politician of the conservative populist party Forum for Democracy (FvD). She has been a member of the House of Representatives since the 2021 general election, and she served on the States of Limburg in the years 2019–23. Kerseboom lived in South Africa for about twenty years and holds a doctorate from Rhodes University.
Hülya Kat is a Dutch politician, serving as a member of the House of Representatives on behalf of the social liberal party Democrats 66 (D66). She was a member of the Velsen municipal council between 2010 and 2018, when she was elected to the Amsterdam council. Kat won a seat in the House in the 2021 general election.
Fonda Sahla is a Dutch politician of the social liberal party Democrats 66 (D66). She has served as a member of the House of Representatives since October 2021, initially as the temporary replacement of Rens Raemakers but later as the successor of Rob Jetten. Sahla's involvement in her local community led her to become politically active. She was elected to The Hague's municipal council in 2018 and participated in the March 2021 general election but was not directly elected.
Hatta Hannelore "Hatte" van der Woude is a Dutch politician, who has been representing the conservative liberal People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD) in the House of Representatives since 2021. She started her career in Vietnam and Singapore and later worked for The Hague University of Applied Sciences as a researcher, lecturer, and policy advisor. Van der Woude was politically active in Delft's municipal council (2012–16) and as an alderwoman in that city (2018–21) before being elected to the House in the 2021 general election.
