Wild Throne was an American heavy metal band from Bellingham, Washington, United States.

Heavy metal is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom. With roots in blues rock, psychedelic rock, and acid rock, the bands that created heavy metal developed a thick, massive sound, characterized by highly amplified distortion, extended guitar solos, emphatic beats, and overall loudness. The genre's lyrics and performance styles are sometimes associated with aggression and machismo.

Bellingham, Washington City in Washington, United States

Bellingham is the county seat and most populous city of Whatcom County in the U.S. state of Washington. Located 52 miles southwest of Vancouver, 90 miles north of Seattle, and 21 miles south of the Canada-US border, Bellingham is in between two major metropolitan areas, Seattle and Vancouver, British Columbia. The city’s population was 80,885 at the 2010 United States Census. With an April 1, 2018 population estimate of 88,500 per the Washington State Office of Financial Management, Bellingham is the twelfth-most populous city in the state of Washington.

History

The band formed in 2008 as a trio under the name Dog Shredder and were influenced by progressive rock bands such as Yes. In 2013, the band changed its name to Wild Throne. They signed a recording contract with Roadrunner Records and released their debut release Harvest of Darkness in 2015. The album received positive reviews from Metal Injection and Metal Sucks. [1] [2] The band toured with Red Fang, Royal Thunder and supported Kvelertak in 2016 on their North American tour. [3]

Yes are an English progressive rock band formed in London in 1968 by singer Jon Anderson, bassist Chris Squire, guitarist Peter Banks, keyboardist Tony Kaye, and drummer Bill Bruford. The band has undergone numerous formations throughout its history; nineteen musicians have been full-time members. Since June 2015, it has consisted of guitarist Steve Howe, drummer Alan White, keyboardist Geoff Downes, singer Jon Davison, and bassist Billy Sherwood, with no remaining founding members. Yes have explored several musical styles over the years, and are most notably regarded as progressive rock pioneers.

Roadrunner Records is an American record label that concentrates primarily on heavy metal and hard rock bands. It is a division of Warner Music Group and is based in New York City.

Harvest of Darknest is Wild Throne's debut album and was released by Roadrunner Records on October 2, 2015. The band went on a tour with Red Fang in support of the album.

On April 19, 2017, Wild Throne posted on its Facebook page that its members had amicably parted ways. [4]

Converge is an American hardcore punk band formed by vocalist Jacob Bannon and guitarist Kurt Ballou in Salem, Massachusetts in 1990. During the recording of their seminal fourth album Jane Doe, the group became a four-piece with the departure of guitarist Aaron Dalbec and the addition of bassist Nate Newton and drummer Ben Koller. This lineup has remained intact since. They have released nine studio albums, three live albums, and numerous EPs. The band's sound is rooted in both hardcore punk and heavy metal, and they are considered pioneers of metalcore as well as its subgenre mathcore.

Emil Werstler

Emil Werstler is an American guitarist and musician based in Atlanta, Georgia, who is perhaps best known for his work with metal and gypsy jazz. Werstler became lead guitarist for the metal band Dååth in 2004, and their second album The Hinderers peaked at No. 49 on the Top Heatseekers chart in 2007. In 2009 Dååth released The Concealers on Roadrunner, which reached No. 35 on Top Heatseekers and was placed as No. 3 on a list of the "top twenty metal albums of 2009" by Metal Sucks. In 2010 Werstler released the instrumental metal album Avalanche of Worms as a collaboration with Eyal Levi, with the album receiving a largely positive response for its musicianship and experimental nature.

The Faceless American band

The Faceless are an American death metal band from the Encino neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. They released their debut album, Akeldama in November 2006, and a follow-up, Planetary Duality, in November 2008. The band's third album, Autotheism, was released on August 14, 2012. On December 1, 2017, the band released their fourth album, In Becoming a Ghost. It was their first album in over half a decade.

Nekrogoblikon is an American melodic death metal band based in Los Angeles, California. The group was formed in 2006, by Tim Lyakhovetskiy and Nicky Calonne. Kvelertak are a Norwegian heavy metal band from Stavanger, formed in 2007. The group currently comprises vocalist Ivar Nikolaisen, guitarists Vidar Landa, Bjarte Lund Rolland and Maciek Ofstad, bassist Marvin Nygaard and drummer Kjetil Gjermundrød. Founding member and lead singer Erlend Hjelvik left the group in 2018, being replaced by Ivar Nikolaisen. Tesseract are a British progressive metal band from Milton Keynes, England. The band, formed in 2003, consists of Daniel Tompkins, Alec "Acle" Kahney, James Monteith, Amos Williams, and Jay Postones. The band is currently signed to Kscope. They are credited as one of the bands to pioneer the djent movement in progressive metal. As of 2018, Tesseract have released four studio albums: One, Altered State, Polaris, and Sonder, as well as a live album, Odyssey/Scala, and the extended plays Concealing Fate, Perspective and Errai.

However, after gaining a wide popularity and signing to Unique Leader Records, the band formed a full line-up and became a full-time touring band. Rings of Saturn's music features a highly technical style, heavily influenced by themes of alien life and outer space. Corelia was a metal band hailing from San Diego, California. The band was managed by Outerloop Management until October 2016. Corelia have released two EPs, Nostalgia (2011), and Nostalgia (2012).). The band has caused controversy with their failure to produce a debut album as they had raised over $30,000 via crowdfunding platform Indiegogo, but have presented little to no evidence of an upcoming album. Due to the lack of updates, or any media presence at all, Corelia is believed to be disbanded.

Ne Obliviscaris (band) Australian extreme progressive metal band

Ne Obliviscaris are a six-piece progressive metal band from Melbourne. Formed initially as a four-piece in April 2003, the group was founded by Xenoyr and Adam Cooper. The current line-up comprises vocalist Xenoyr, violinist and clean vocalist Tim Charles, guitarists Matt Klavins and Benjamin Baret, bassist Martino Garattoni and drummer Daniel Presland. To date, the band has released a demo, two extended plays and three studio albums. Their most recent album, Urn, was released on 27 October 2017.

<i>In Becoming a Ghost</i> 2017 studio album by The Faceless

In Becoming a Ghost is the fourth studio album by The Faceless. It was released on December 1, 2017 through Sumerian Records. It is the only album with Abigail Williams' Ken Sorceron on vocals, The Zenith Passage's Justin McKinney on guitar and Chason Westmoreland, formerly of Hate Eternal, on drums. Westmoreland left the band shortly before the album was released. Soceron, McKinney, and drummer Bryce Butler would depart the band less than four months later. Michael Keene tracked the bass on the entire album by himself. This is also the first The Faceless LP to feature songs recorded with Drop A tuning using seven string guitars. It is their first full-length release in five years, the last being 2012's Autotheism.

Entheos

Entheos are an American progressive metal supergroup formed in 2015 by ex-members of Animosity. It is known as the reincarnation of the previous band mentioned, including that some of the members were part of well known groups such as Animals as Leaders, The Faceless, Continuum, Conflux and Son Of Aurelius. They released their debut EP, Primal, in March 2015, which is considered by fans as what could have been Veil of Maya if Chaney Crabb were selected to be the vocalist in that band in a contest in 2014; and their debut album, The Infinite Nothing, in April 2016. The band announced their return to the studio in March 2017, and released their most recent album, Dark Future, in November of the same year.

<i>Solipsist</i> (album) 2016 studio album by The Zenith Passage

Solipsist is the debut studio album by Bay Area technical death metal band The Zenith Passage. It was released via Unique Leader Records on April 15, 2016. It is the band's first release for Unique Leader Records, with whom they signed in 2013. The album focuses on the concept of solipsism. The album features a guest vocal appearance by Fallujah’s Alex Hofmann, and guitar solo by Wes Hauch. The cover art was done by Ken Sarafin, who had also worked with Skinless, The Kennedy Veil, and Archspire. Per figures provided by Metal news site MetalInsider, the album sold 720 units in its first week.
