White nationalism is a type of racial nationalism or pan-nationalism which espouses the belief that white people are a race and seeks to develop and maintain a white racial and national identity. Many of its proponents identify with the concept of a white ethnostate.
Samuel Todd Francis,known as Sam Francis,was an American white supremacist writer. He was a columnist and editor for the conservative Washington Times until he was dismissed after making racist remarks at the 1995 American Renaissance conference. Francis would later become a "dominant force" on the Council of Conservative Citizens,a white supremacist organization identified as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Francis was chief editor of the council's newsletter,Citizens Informer,until his death in 2005. White supremacist Jared Taylor called Francis "the premier philosopher of white racial consciousness of our time."
VDARE is an American far-right website promoting opposition to immigration to the United States. It is associated with white supremacy,white nationalism,and the alt-right. Anti-Immigration in the United States:A Historical Encyclopedia describes VDARE as "one of the most prolific anti-immigration media outlets in the United States" and states that it is "broadly concerned with race issues in the United States". Established in 1999,the website's editor is Peter Brimelow,who once stated that "whites built American culture" and that "it is at risk from non-whites who would seek to change it".
The Occidental Quarterly is an American magazine published by the Charles Martel Society. Its stated purpose is to defend "the cultural,ethnic,and racial interests of Western European peoples" and examine "contemporary political,social,and demographic trends that impact the posterity of Western Civilization".
The National Policy Institute (NPI) was a white supremacist think tank and lobbying group based in Alexandria,Virginia. It lobbied for white supremacists and the alt-right. Its president was Richard B. Spencer.
Jussie Smollett is an American actor and singer. He began his career as a child actor in 1991 debuting in The Mighty Ducks (1992). From 2015 to 2019,Smollett portrayed musician Jamal Lyon in the Fox drama series Empire.
Amanda Ingrid Seales,formerly known by the stage name Amanda Diva,is an American actress,author,activist,media personality,podcaster,comedian and poet. From 2017 to 2021,she starred in the HBO comedy series Insecure. In 2019,HBO released her first stand-up comedy special I Be Knowin. Then,in 2020,Seales launched Smart Funny &Black,a comedy gameshow that showcases Black culture,history,and experience. Seales was also one of the co-hosts of the syndicated daytime talk show,The Real.
Racism on the Internet sometimes also referred to as cyber-racism and more broadly considered as an online hate crime or an internet hate crime consists of racist rhetoric or bullying that is distributed through computer-mediated means and includes some or all of the following characteristics:ideas of racial uniqueness,racist attitudes towards specific social categories,racist stereotypes,hate-speech,nationalism and common destiny,racial supremacy,superiority and separation,conceptions of racial otherness,and anti-establishment world-view. Richard Bertrand Spencer is an American neo-Nazi,antisemitic conspiracy theorist,and white supremacist. Spencer claimed to have coined the term "alt-right" and was the most prominent advocate of the alt-right movement from its earliest days. He advocates for the reconstitution of the European Union into a white racial empire,which he believes will replace the diverse European ethnic identities with one homogeneous "White identity".
The white genocide,white extinction,or white replacement conspiracy theory is a white supremacist conspiracy theory that claims there is a deliberate plot to cause the extinction of whites through forced assimilation,mass immigration,and/or violent genocide. It purports that this goal is advanced through the promotion of miscegenation,interracial marriage,mass non-white immigration,racial integration,low fertility rates,abortion,pornography,LGBT identities,governmental land-confiscation from whites,organised violence,and eliminationism in majority white countries. Under some theories,Black people,Hispanics,and Muslims are blamed for the secret plot,but usually as more fertile immigrants,invaders,or violent aggressors,rather than as the masterminds. A related,but distinct,conspiracy theory is the Great Replacement theory.
The Traditionalist Worker Party (TWP) was a neo-Nazi political party active in the United States between 2013 and 2018,affiliated with the broader "alt-right" movement that became active within the U.S. during the 2010s. It was considered a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center's list.
The alt-right is a far-right,white nationalist movement. A largely online phenomenon,the alt-right originated in the United States during the late 2000s before increasing in popularity and establishing a presence in other countries during the mid-2010s,and has been declining since 2017. The term is ill-defined and has been used in different ways by academics,journalists,media commentators,and alt-right members themselves.
Kimberly M. Foxx is an American politician,who is currently the State's Attorney for Cook County,Illinois. She manages the second largest prosecutor's office in the United States,consisting of approximately 700 attorneys and 1,100 employees. In 2016,she won the Democratic nomination for State's Attorney against incumbent Anita Alvarez and went on to win the general election. She was re-elected in 2020. In 2023,she announced that she would not run for re-election in 2024.
Donald Trump,former president of the United States,has a history of speech and actions that have been viewed by scholars and the public as racist or white supremacist. Journalists,friends,family,and former employees have accused him of fueling racism in the United States. Trump has repeatedly denied accusations of racism.
Paul Joseph Watson is a British right-wing YouTuber,radio host,and conspiracy theorist. Until July 2016,Watson embraced the label "alt-right",but he now identifies as part of the New Right. In May 2019,Facebook and Instagram permanently banned Watson for violation of hate speech policies.
Eddie T. Johnson is an American retired police officer for the Chicago Police Department. He served as the 62nd Superintendent of the Chicago Police Department from March 2016 until December 2019.
Jack Michael Posobiec III is an American alt-right political activist,television correspondent and presenter,conspiracy theorist,and former United States Navy intelligence officer.
On January 29,2019,American actor Jussie Smollett approached the Chicago Police Department and reported a hate crime that he had staged earlier that morning. He planned the hate crime with two Nigerian brothers,Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo,who had worked as extras on the set of television drama Empire,in which Smollett was a cast member. During the staged attack,which took place on East Lower North Water Street in Chicago's Streeterville neighborhood,the disguised brothers shouted racial and homophobic slurs while one poured bleach on Smollett and the other placed a noose around his neck. In addition to falsely reporting that he had been attacked by two unknown individuals,Smollett described one of them as a white male. He also told police the men shouted "This is MAGA country" during the attack,a reference to the Trumpist political slogan "Make America Great Again". The brothers later testified that Smollett staged the attack near a surveillance camera so that video of it could be publicized.
Groypers,sometimes called the Groyper Army,are a group of alt-right,white nationalist,and neo-Nazi activists,provocateurs,and internet trolls. They are notable for their attempts to introduce alt-right politics into mainstream conservatism in the United States,their participation in the January 6 United States Capitol attack and the protests leading up to it,and their extremist views. They have targeted other conservative groups and individuals whose agendas they view as too moderate and insufficiently nationalist. The Groyper movement has been described as white nationalist,homophobic,nativist,fascist,sexist,antisemitic,and an attempt to rebrand the declining alt-right movement.
