Wilfrido Blanco Mora is a Costa Rican educator, civil servant, and political activist. Blanco served as Vice-Minister of Education during Abel Pacheco's presidency. [1] During his time in office, he promoted student security, [1] greater access to education, [2] and higher student achievement. Under Blanco's administration, the Ministry of Public Education began requiring teaching candidates to present a criminal record with applications for teaching positions. [3]

He was a former member of the Partido Unidad Social Cristiana (PUSC for its Spanish initials) and a current member of the Citizens' Action Party (PAC for its Spanish initials).

Ana Helena Chacón Echeverría is a Costa Rica politician, who served as the nation's 2nd Vice President, under Luis Guillermo Solís 2014–2018, and as Ambassador in Spain, under Carlos Alvarado. Her political career is dedicated to issues of feminism, human rights, and public health policy. Previously a cabinet minister and deputy, Chacón has also served on numerous committees and conferences on the national and international level.

María Teresa Obregón Zamora

María Teresa Obregón Zamora (1888-1956) was a teacher, suffragist and politician in Costa Rica. She was part of the group that formed the Asociación Nacional de Educadores (ANDE) and fought for women's enfranchisement. After winning the vote, she helped found the National Liberation Party of Costa Rica and was one of the first three women elected as a Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica. In 2002, Obregón was honored as one of the inaugural group of women inducted into La Galería de las Mujeres de Costa Rica.

Victoria Garrón de Doryan

Victoria Garrón de Doryan was a Costa Rican educator and writer. Most known for serving as Second Vice President of Costa Rica from 1986 to 1990. She was the first woman to hold the post and during her tenure was acting president of the country over a dozen times. As a writer, she produced numerous biographies of historical Costa Ricans, as well as poetry.
