Hardin–Simmons University (HSU) is a private Baptist university in Abilene, Texas, United States. It is affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
Robert Hue Wallace is an American former college football coach and athletics administrator. He served as head football coach at the University of North Alabama at 1988 to 1997 and again from 2012 to 2016, at Temple University from 1998 to 2005, and at the University of West Alabama from 2006 to 2010. Wallace led the North Alabama Lions to three consecutive NCAA Division II Football Championships, from 1993 to 1995. He was also the athletic director at West Alabama from 2018 to 2021.
Emory Dilworth Bellard was a college football coach. He was head coach at Texas A&M University from 1972 to 1978 and at Mississippi State University from 1979 until 1985. Bellard died on February 10, 2011, after battling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis since the fall of 2010.

Esposito spent twelve years with Hall of Fame Coach Tubby Smith as an assistant basketball coach and Recruiting Coordinator at University of Memphis, an assistant coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Texas Tech University and the director of basketball operations and assistant coach at the University of Minnesota. He has head coaching experience at Assumption College, Angelo State University and The Villages Charter Schools. He was the associate head coach at Tennessee State University working for Frankie Allen.
Jimmie Keeling is a former American football coach. He served as the head football coach at Hardin–Simmons University in Abilene, Texas from 1990 to 2010. After a highly successful coaching career in Texas high school football, Keeling was chosen to revive the Hardin–Simmons Cowboys football program, which hadn't played a football game since 1963. Keeling became the winningest coach in Hardin–Simmons football history in 1997, surpassing Warren B. Woodson.
Chris Thomsen is an American football coach. He is the tight ends coach at Florida State University. Thomsen was the head coach of the Wildcats football program at Abilene Christian University (ACU), from 2005 through 2011. Thomsen also served as the interim head football coach at Texas Tech University for one game in 2012, the Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas.

He was previously the offensive coordinator at both Baylor University and Brigham Young University (BYU), Louisiana State University's (LSU) offensive line coach and run game coordinator, and the offensive line coach at both Virginia Tech (2013) and Auburn University. Adam Dorrel is an American football coach and former player. He is the head football coach for the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma, a position he has held since 2022. Previously Dorrel was the head coach at Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, Missouri from 2011 to 2016, and Abilene Christian in Abilene, Texas, from 2017 to 2021. While at Northwest Missouri State he led the program to three undefeated seasons and the NCAA Division II Football Championship in 2013, 2015, and 2016.
Michael Troy Jinks is an American football coach who last served as the running backs coach for Houston. Jinks served as the head football coach at Bowling Green State University from 2016 until midway through the 2018 season, before becoming the running backs coach at the University of Southern California. Previously he was an assistant head coach and running backs coach at Texas Tech University.

He also previously served as head coach at Texas, Texas Tech, Little Rock, Angelo State, and McMurry. Beard graduated from high school from McCullough High School in The Woodlands, Texas. He was a manager at Texas under former Longhorns coach Tom Penders, graduating in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology. He received a Masters of Education from Abilene Christian University where he served as a graduate assistant in 1998.
The 1942 Hardin–Simmons Cowboys football team was an American football team that represented Hardin–Simmons University in the Border Conference during the 1942 college football season. The team compiled a 9–1–1 record, tied with Texas Tech for the conference championship, lost its only game to the Second Air Force Bombers in the 1943 Sun Bowl, and outscored all opponents by a total of 254 to 71.
Fred Jonas is a former American football coach. He served as head football coach at Texas A&I University—now known as Texas A&M University–Kingsville—from 1977 to 1978, compiling a record of 14–6–1. Jonas was an assistant at Texas A&I for ten seasons under head coach Gil Steinke, during which time the Javelinas won five NAIA Football National Championships.
The 2012 Lone Star Conference football began on August 30 when West Texas A&M lost to CSU-Pueblo and ended with West Texas A&M loss against Winston-Salem in the NCAA D2 Semi Final on December 8. It was Abilene Christian and Incarnated Word last season before they moved to NCAA D1 Southland Conference.
Scotty Walden is an American football coach who is currently the head coach at University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). Walden had previously served as the head coach at East Texas Baptist University, Austin Peay State University and interim head coach at the University of Southern Mississippi.
