William James Beck Sr. (born December 6,1934) is an American former politician who was a Republican member of the Montana Legislature. He was elected to House District 6 which includes the Whitefish area. He served in that capacity from 2007 to 2013. [1] [2]
The Montana State Legislature is the state legislature of the U.S. state of Montana. It is composed of the 100-member Montana House of Representatives and the 50-member Montana Senate.
Since Montana became a U.S. state in 1889,it has sent congressional delegations to the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives. Each state elects two senators to serve for six years. Before the Seventeenth Amendment took effect in 1913,senators were elected by the Montana State Legislature. Members of the House of Representatives are elected to two-year terms,one from Montana's at-large congressional district. Before becoming a state,the Territory of Montana elected a non-voting delegate at-large to Congress from 1864 to 1889.
The 14th Texas Legislature met from January 13,1874 to March 15,1875 in two regular sessions. All members of the House of Representatives and about half of the members of the Senate were elected in 1873.
William Walter "Bill" Mercer is an American attorney and politician serving as a member of the Montana House of Representatives from the 46th district. He previously served as the United States Attorney for the District of Montana,as well as principal associate deputy attorney general for the United States Department of Justice.
