An art colony, also known as an artists' colony, can be defined two ways. Its most liberal description refers to the organic congregation of artists in towns, villages and rural areas, often drawn by areas of natural beauty, the prior existence of other artists or art schools there, and a lower cost of living. More commonly, the term refers to the guest-host model of a mission-driven planned community, which administers a formal process for awarding artist residencies. In the latter case, a typical mission might include providing artists with the time, space and support to create; fostering community among artists; and providing arts education to the public. Early 20th century American guest-host models include New Hampshire's MacDowell Colony and New York's Yaddo.

The Mission Revival style was an architectural movement that began in the late 19th century for a colonial style's revivalism and reinterpretation, which drew inspiration from the late 18th and early 19th century Spanish missions in California. It is sometimes termed California Mission Revival, particularly when used elsewhere, such as in New Mexico and Texas which have their own unique regional architectural styles.
Vladimir Kush is a Russian born surrealist painter and sculptor. He studied at the Surikov Moscow Art Institute, and after several years working as an artist in Moscow, his native city, he emigrated to the United States, eventually establishing his own gallery on the island of Maui in Hawaii. His oil paintings are also sold as giclée prints which contributed to his popularity and led to the establishment of further galleries in Laguna Beach, California, and Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2011 Kush won the First Prize in Painting at the Artistes du Monde international exhibition in Cannes.

Delivery Dudes is a Florida-based on-demand delivery service founded in 2009. The company delivers restaurant food, groceries, and prescriptions. It was acquired by Louisiana food delivery company Waitr Holdings in 2021. As of 2022, Delivery Dudes served over 1,500 restaurants in south and southeastern Florida.

George Gadson is an American artist, sculptor, painter, and photographer based in South Florida. His sculptures are displayed as public artwork in a variety of locations throughout Florida, including the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida Memorial University in Miami, and the Broward County School Board building. In the 1990s, he was commissioned to create two limited-edition sculptures for two Florida-based Super Bowls. He was also commissioned to design an ornament for the White House Christmas tree in 2008 and a sculpture for NFL linebacker Ray Lewis in 2018. He is the owner of George Gadson Studios through which he also provides public art consulting.
Delray Wreck is a site offshore in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Delray Beach. It is the site of the sinking of the steamship SS Inchulva during a hurricane in 1903. Nine men died in the accident. The wreck is located about 150 yards (140 m) offshore. It is now a popular dive site. A historical marker now stands on the city's multi-use path commemorating the wreck.
