The Middlesex Canal was a 27-mile (44-kilometer) barge canal connecting the Merrimack River with the port of Boston. When operational it was 30 feet wide,and 3 feet deep,with 20 locks,each 80 feet long and between 10 and 11 feet wide. It also had eight aqueducts.

The school is supervised by a district superintendent who reports to an elected school committee for the town. As of October 2022,Thomas Murphy,an alumnus of BMHS,is the school's principal. The administration consists of assistant principals responsible for a specific grade-year. In athletics,Billerica's arch-rival is Chelmsford High School. The colors of BMHS are green and white,and the school's emblem is the Indian Head.
The Shops at Billerica is a strip mall and former enclosed shopping mall located in Billerica,Massachusetts. It was built as part of a series of malls including the Woburn Mall,and the Mystic Mall. Anchor stores include Burlington and Big Lots. The property is currently going under a massive redevelopment,although the timeline for completion is unknown.
