Biography

Murat was born on December 4, 1957 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. [1] He graduated from Stevens Point Area Senior High School, the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point, the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Columbia University.

Career

Murat was first elected to the Assembly in 1994 as a Democrat and was a member until 1999. He was succeeded by Julie Lassa.

As of 2018, UW-Stevens Point has merged with UW-Stevens Point at Wausau and UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield. The 406-acre (164 ha) main campus includes the 280-acre (113 ha) Schmeeckle Reserve on the north side of the Campus. There are 15 academic buildings, and 13 Residence Halls.

Stevens Point Area Senior High is a high school located in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, United States. It is part of the Stevens Point Area Public School District. SPASH serves the Stevens Point area, including Stevens Point, Plover, Whiting, and Park Ridge, as well as several towns and nearby Junction City and part of Milladore. The school mascot is a panther. The school opened in 1972, allowing the district high school to move from P. J. Jacobs which had housed the high school since 1938.

Stan Gruszynski is a former Democratic member of the Wisconsin State Assembly representing the 71st district. He served five terms as State Representative from 1984 to 1994. He served as a member of the Democratic National Committee and, therefore, a superdelegate to the 2008 Democratic National Convention. He endorsed Barack Obama in the 2008 United States Presidential Election. In June, 2008, Gruszynski announced he would seek the Democratic nomination for the 36th district of the Wisconsin State Assembly.
