William Hutchinson (born 4 August 1998 [1] ) is a Scottish professional boxer. He has challenged once for the British and Commonwealth super-middleweight titles in 2021. As an amateur, he won a gold medal at the 2016 Youth World Championships in the middleweight division.
Hutchinson is regarded as one of Scotland's most successful amateur boxers, [3] winning gold medals at the 2014 European Junior Championships and 2016 Youth World Championships—becoming the first Scottish boxer to win gold at an amateur World Championships. [4]
Under the tutelage of renowned Cuban trainer, Ismael Salas, and being guided by David Haye's RingStar Promotions [4] with Shelly Finkel as manager, [5] Hutchinson made his professional debut on 20 October 2017, scoring a first-round technical knockout (TKO) victory against Attila Nagy at the indigo at The O2 in London. [6]
He scored another TKO victory in December—defeating Cyrille Joly in the second round [7] —followed by a six-round points decision (PTS) victory against Eric Mokonzo in February 2018. [8] After his win over Mokonzo, Hutchinson switched trainers from Salas to Dominic Ingle. [5]
In the following May it was announced that Hutchinson had also switched promoters, signing with Frank Warren's Queensberry Promotions. [9]

Thomas Hearns is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1977 to 2006. Nicknamed the "Motor City Cobra", and more famously "The Hitman", Hearns's tall, slender build and oversized arms and shoulders allowed him to move up over fifty pounds in his career and become the first boxer in history to win world titles in five weight divisions: welterweight, light middleweight, middleweight, super middleweight and light heavyweight.
David Deron Haye is a British former professional boxer who competed between 2002 and 2018. He held multiple world championships in two weight classes, and was the first British boxer to reach the final of the World Amateur Boxing Championships, where he won a silver medal in 2001.
Ramón Garbey is a heavyweight boxer from Cuba, who won the world title as an amateur in light heavyweight division at the 1993 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Tampere, Finland. In the final he defeated Nigeria's Jacklord Jacobs. Prior to that Garbey captured the gold medal at the 1991 Pan American Games in the middleweight division.
Paul James Smith Jr. is a British former professional boxer who competed from 2003 to 2017, and has since worked as a commentator. He held the English middleweight title in 2008, the British super-middleweight title twice between 2009 and 2014, and challenged three times for a super-middleweight world title. As an amateur, he won a silver medal in the light middleweight division at the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
Matvey Georgiyevich Korobov is a Russian-American professional boxer. He challenged once for the WBO middleweight title in 2014, as well as the WBC interim middleweight title in 2018 and the WBA interim middleweight title in 2019.
