Wilson Logistics Arena is a multipurpose arena in Springfield, Missouri located on the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds. The stadium opened on January 11, 2024. The stadium replaced the Corwin Auto Arena.

History

Corwin Auto Arena

Corwin Auto Arena was built in the 1960s and served as a livestock arena until being torn down in November 2022. The area had a seating capacity of 2,200. [4] The Wilson Logistics Arena was constructed on the old Corwin Auto Arena land.

Wilson Logistics Arena

Wilson Logistics, a trucking company, secured 20-year naming rights for the arena for undisclosed price. [2]

Although the arena was not completed yet, it was open for the 44th Annual Ozark Fall Farmfest on October 6-8, 2023 [5] and the inaugural Springfield Auto Show on November 3-4, 2023. [6] The arena opened on January 11, 2024. [3]

Arena Usage

Sports

The stadium currently hosts the Ozarks Lunkers in The Arena League, which began in June 2024. The league agreed to a three-year lease with the stadium. [7]

Wilson Logistics Arena hosted the USA BMX National Championship Series from March 1-3, 2024. [8]

Events

The arena will be able to accommodate all types of events with the ability to have a concrete or dirt floor. The facility will be 100,000 square feet and designed for trade shows, concerts, and competitions. [9]

Lake of the Ozarks is a reservoir created by impounding the Osage River in the northern part of the Ozarks in central Missouri. Parts of three smaller tributaries to the Osage are included in the impoundment: the Niangua River, Grandglaize Creek, and Gravois Creek. The lake has a surface area of 54,000 acres (220 km2) and 1,150 miles (1,850 km) of shoreline. The main channel of the Osage Arm stretches 92 miles (148 km) from one end to the other. The total drainage area is over 14,000 square miles (36,000 km2). The lake's serpentine shape has earned it the nickname "the Missouri Dragon", which has, in turn, inspired the names of local institutions such as the Magic Dragon Street Meet.

The Nashville Fairgrounds, also known as The Fairgrounds Nashville and the Tennessee State Fairgrounds, is an entertainment complex in Nashville, Tennessee, United States. The 117-acre (47 ha) site is located southeast of Downtown Nashville on the Nolensville Pike. The historic home of the Tennessee State Fair, today the complex is home to Geodis Park, home of Nashville SC of Major League Soccer, Fairgrounds Speedway, the Tennessee State Fairground Sports Arena, the Nashville Flea Market, and The Nashville Fair. The site is undergoing redevelopment into a mixed-use development spurred by the construction of the soccer stadium with commercial and residential use and a community park. The Ozarks Lunkers are a professional indoor football team based in Springfield, Missouri. They are currently members of The Arena League (TAL). They will play their home games at Wilson Logistics Arena, a multipurpose arena built next to the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds.

The 2024 TAL season is the inaugural season of The Arena League (TAL). The regular season began on June 1, 2024, with the regular season scheduled to end on July 27, 2024.
