Ozarks Technical Community College (OTC) is a public community college in Springfield, Missouri. It was established by Springfield and thirteen surrounding public school districts on April 3, 1990. It has six locations in southern Missouri. Students can earn a one-year certificate, two-year Associate of Applied Science degree (A.A.S.), Associate of Science (A.S) or Associate of Arts degree (A.A.). It is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and had a fall 2021 enrollment of 10,506 students. [2]
Because of the creation of the Junior College District of Central Southwest Missouri, the college was founded with the name Heart of the Ozarks Community Technical College. Classes were initially held at Cox Medical Center North and in the newly named Graff Hall and Building A, which was formerly owned by Graff Area Vocational Technical Center. The next year, it began offering general education courses located in the North Town Mall.
September 1990 the schools founding president was chosen to be Dr. Norman K. Meyers. [3]
In 1994, the schools name was shortened to Ozarks Technical Community College. [4] [5]
In 2003, it became one of the first smoke-free campuses in the country. [6]
OTC provides accredited certificates, associate degrees, and other technical education programs. The school specializes in technical and vocational programs.
Beginning its life as Graff Vocational School, OTC continues to offer courses to high school students allowing them to earn college credit prior to graduation.
The Center for Workforce Development addresses the ever-changing needs of the Springfield workforce.
In April 2021, Missouri's Coordinating Board for Higher Education approved the schools plans to offer a four-year program in respiratory therapy. [7]
Seven main buildings make up the Springfield campus. Graff Hall, and what is now Lincoln Hall were the first buildings when the college began. Lincoln Hall is listed on the National Register of Historical Places as one of the first African-American schools in Springfield. The Norman K. Meyers building was constructed in 1997 [4] [5]
The Robert W. Plaster Center for Advanced Manufacturing is the newest building on the campus built in 2022. It was funded by a property tax levy and private donations. [8]

Missouri State University, formerly Southwest Missouri State University, is a public university in Springfield, Missouri. Founded in 1905 as the Fourth District Normal School, it is the state's second largest university by enrollment, with an enrollment of 23,307 at its main campus in the fall semester of 2022. The school also operates a campus in West Plains, Missouri offering associate degrees, which had an enrollment of 1,744 in the fall semester of 2022. A bachelor's degree in business is offered at Liaoning Normal University in China. The university also operates a fruit research station in Mountain Grove, Missouri and a Department of Defense and Strategic Studies program in Fairfax, Virginia.

Springfield Technical Community College is a public technical college in Springfield, Massachusetts. It is the only technical community college in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Located on the site of the Springfield Armory National Park, which was founded by Henry Knox and George Washington during the Revolutionary War, Springfield Technical Community College now occupies many of the buildings used by the U.S. Armory at Springfield prior to the Armory's closure in 1969. East Mississippi Community College (EMCC), formerly East Mississippi Junior College, is a public community college in Scooba, Mississippi. EMCC serves and is supported by Clay, Kemper, Lauderdale, Lowndes, Noxubee and Oktibbeha counties in east central Mississippi. The college has two principal campuses in Scooba and Mayhew, Mississippi and offers courses at five other locations. One of fifteen community colleges in Mississippi, EMCC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award the Associate of Applied Science degree and the Associate of Arts degree.

Angelina College is a public community college with its main campus in Lufkin, Texas. Midland College (MC) is a public community college in Midland, Texas. It was established as an independent junior college in 1972 and held its first classes on campus in 1975. Barstow Community College is a public community college in Barstow, California. It is an open-admission college serving more than 3,700 students in degree and certificate programs with approximately 120 faculty. It provides the first two years of college or university study as part of the California Community Colleges. The college's educational program includes lower-division course work, general education offerings, and vocational courses for transfer to baccalaureate degree institutions. Lincoln School, also known as Lincoln Hall, Building A: Graft Vocational and Technical, Eastwood Junior High School, New Lincoln Colored School, is a historic school building located in Springfield, Missouri. The school was constructed in 1930. It has undergone multiple additions, but the main part of the original building remains intact. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.
