The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is the national governing body of cricket in England and Wales. It was formed on 1 January 1997 as a single governing body to combine the roles formerly fulfilled by the Test and County Cricket Board, the National Cricket Association and the Cricket Council. In April 1998 the Women's Cricket Association was integrated into the organisation. The ECB's head offices are at Lord's Cricket Ground in north-west London.
Lancashire County Cricket Club represents the historic county of Lancashire in English cricket. The club has held first-class status since it was founded in 1864. Hampshire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Hampshire. Hampshire teams formed by earlier organisations, principally the Hambledon Club, always had first-class status and the same applied to the county club when it was founded in 1863. Because of poor performances for several seasons until 1885, Hampshire then lost its status for nine seasons until it was invited into the County Championship in 1895, since when the team have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England. Hampshire originally played at the Antelope Ground, Southampton until 1885 when they relocated to the County Ground, Southampton until 2000, before moving to the purpose-built Rose Bowl in West End, which is in the Borough of Eastleigh. The club has twice won the County Championship, in the 1961 and 1973 seasons.
Inter-county cricket matches have been played since the early 18th century, involving teams that are representative of the historic counties of England and Wales. Since the late 19th century, there have been two county championship competitions played at different levels: the County Championship, a first-class competition which involves eighteen first-class county clubs among which seventeen are English and one is from Wales; and the National Counties Championship, which involves nineteen English county clubs and one club that represents several Welsh counties.

Cheltenham Cricket Club is an English amateur cricket club based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire first envisioned in 1891. It played its first game on 21 June 1897 against a picked XI of WG Grace. The club's first team plays in the West of England Premier League which is an accredited ECB Premier League, the highest level for recreational club cricket in England and Wales. It has also been a Ladies Hockey Club in 1899, tennis club in 1912 and training area for the armed forces during World War I. It hosted County Championship cricket matches from 1923 until 1937, and junior cricket since 1921.

It has three adult teams and a youth section ranging from under-nines to under-fifteens. The 1st XI plays in the West of England Premier League, Wiltshire division. The club teams play their home games at Trowbridge Cricket Club Ground which is also the main home ground of the Wiltshire County Cricket Club.
Smethwick Cricket Club, founded in 1835, is an amateur cricket club based in Smethwick, Sandwell, England. In 1891, Smethwick Cricket Club joined the Birmingham and District Cricket League. Smethwick have five Senior XI teams: The 1st XI play in the Birmingham & District Premier League Premier Division, and the 2nd, 3rd and 4th XI compete in the Warwickshire County Cricket League. Smethwick CC also have a Sunday XI that play in the Arden Sunday Cricket League, and an established junior section that plays competitive cricket in the Warwickshire Youth Cricket Leagues. Smethwick have been Birmingham and District Premier League Champions on 3 occasions in 1951, 1968 and 2022.
