Wim Opbrouck is a Flemish actor and singer from Belgium. He is especially known for his work on stage.
Wim Opbrouck comes from Bavikhove, part of Harelbeke and studied at the Herman Teirlinck Studio.
Opbrouck joined the Blue Monday Company. In 1997 he performed in a 12-hour theatre marathon production of Ten oorlog by Tom Lanoye. Following the merger of this company with KNS (Antwerp), he became an actor at the Drama House. He took on large roles in Aars!,Leenane Trilogy,L. King of Pain, and Macbeth.
In 2005 he transferred to NTGent and acted with the company in Ghent. [1]
In 2010 he succeeded Johan Simons as artistic director of NTGent. [1]
He gained fame through his appearance in the travel documentary De Bende van Wim , a collaboration with composer and producer Jean Blaute and photographer Michiel Hendryckx , in which he travels through Europe on a motorcycle. He's also well known for appearing in the television shows Windkracht 10 and In De Gloria. He played in the films like Manneken Pis , Meisje, and Everybody's Famous! .
He also sings and plays accordion in the group The Dolfijntjes. [2]

Manneken Pis is a landmark 55.5 cm (21.9 in) bronze fountain sculpture in central Brussels, Belgium, depicting a puer mingens; a naked little boy urinating into the fountain's basin. Though its existence is attested as early as the mid-15th century, Manneken Pis was redesigned by the Brabantine sculptor Jérôme Duquesnoy the Elder and put in place in 1619. Its stone niche in rocaille style dates from 1770. The statue has been repeatedly stolen or damaged throughout its history. Since 1965, a replica has been displayed, with the original stored in the Brussels City Museum.

The 50-centimetre (20 in) bronze statue depicts a naked little girl with short pigtails, squatting and urinating on a blue-grey limestone base.
Willem Theodoor "Wim T." Schippers is a Dutch artist, comedian, television director, and voice actor. During the 1960s, he worked mostly as a visual artist, associated with the international Fluxus-movement. Pipo de Clown is a character created by writer and artist Wim Meuldijk, which became famous as the lead character of a popular early Dutch television series also written by Meuldijk, and which was subsequently popularized in movies and on records. The best-known of Pipo-actors was Amsterdam actor Cor Witschge, who played the part in the television series from 1958 to 1968 and from 1974 to 1980. The regular Pipo cast often performed in theaters and for company occasions. Pipo returned to the mainstream in the 2003 movie Pipo en de p-p-Parelridder, and in the 2009-2010 theater season with the musical Pipo en de Gestolen Stem.

In 1995, he made his directorial film debut with Manneken Pis, which premiered at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival and won the Mercedes-Benz Award, Grand Golden Rail, Award of the Youth and the Prix Guillermo del Toro. The film received the André Cavens Award for Best Film and four awards at the Joseph Plateau Awards. Van Passel's next film, Villa des Roses (2002), was adapted from the 1913 novella of the same name by Belgian writer Willem Elsschot. The film starred Julie Delpy, Shaun Dingwall and Shirley Henderson. It won Best Feature at the Hollywood Film Festival and was nominated for three awards at the British Independent Film Awards. His TV-series received numerous awards, including a Special Commendation Prix d'Europe and the FIPA D'OR Grand Prize in Biarritz for The Emperor of Taste and the TV-critics Award and De HA! van Humo for Terug naar Oosterdonk. He was co-founder of Caviar, a production company with offices in Brussels, Antwerp, Los Angeles, Paris, Amsterdam, London and Prague. Since 2018 he has been working as a freelance director, directing theatre and TV series such as Dag Sinterklaas (Ketnet) and Renaissances (TF1).
Manneken Pis is a 1995 Belgian comedy-drama film directed by Frank Van Passel and written by Christophe Dirickx. It premiered in May 1995 at the Cannes Film Festival. It received the André Cavens Award for Best Film and four awards at the Joseph Plateau Awards. The film was selected as the Belgian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 68th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee.

Milo Rau is a Swiss theatre director, journalist, playwright, essayist, and lecturer. NTGent, originally Nederlands Toneel Gent, is a theatre company in Ghent, Belgium. Subtitled "Het Stadtstheater van de Toekomst", it is especially known for the avant garde theatre produced by Milo Rau, who was artistic director from 2018 until January 2023. As of 2024, there are three co-directors: Yves Degryse, Barbara Raes, and Melih Gençboyacı, while Rau is responsible for the 2023–2024 artistic programme.
