Win McMurry (born March 12, 1983) is an American sportscaster. Until October 2013, she anchored Golf Channel's "PGA Tour Primetime" and reported for Golf Central , Morning Drive and other programming features and specials. [1] She is also the host of a series of travel shows on GolfChannel.com titled “Gone With the Win”, and McMurry is also the resident fantasy golf expert, as well as the network's authority on golf fashion.

Golf Channel is an American pay television network owned by the NBC Sports Group subsidiary of NBCUniversal division of Comcast. The channel focuses on coverage of the sport of golf, including live coverage of tournaments, as well as factual and instructional programming. It also houses the Golf Films franchise, a collection of independently produced biographical films that center around key figures and events in the history of golf.

Golf Central is Golf Channel's news program. It was launched in 1995, in the same year as the network it airs on.

Fantasy golf is a game in which the participants each assemble a team of real life golfers and then score points based on those players' performance in golf tournaments, with games typically following the US PGA Tour and the European Tour. Many formats exist for players' selection of golfers and point scoring. A common variant sees a squad of golfers selected annually with a set budget based on prior performance, with weekly teams selected from the larger squads. Some fantasy golf formats focus solely on golf's Major Championships. Participating in fantasy golf can add enjoyment to golf viewing, as well as providing competition against other participants.

McMurry previously worked as a producer, writer and host of PGA Tour Entertainment’s PGA Tour Today, Monday Backspin, and Morning Movers on PGATour.com. [1] She has also worked at CBS Sports Network as a golf cart driver for personnel covering the PGA Tour, and a runner for the NFL, and NCAA Basketball, and as a production assistant for WCBS-TV.

The PGA Tour is the organizer of the main professional golf tours played primarily by men in the United States and North America. It organizes most of the events on the flagship annual series of tournaments also known as the PGA Tour, as well as PGA Tour Champions and the Web.com Tour, as well as PGA Tour Canada, PGA Tour Latinoamérica, and PGA Tour China. The PGA Tour is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, a suburb of Jacksonville.

Personal life

McMurry was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, to Jane Hight McMurry and John E. McMurry, Jr MD, and raised in Wilmington, North Carolina. [2] She is a graduate of University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Communications Studies and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Business from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business. She also has a sister, Allison Louise McMurry. [2]

McMurry was named golf’s "No.1 Beauty" by Sports Illustrated 's GOLF Magazine, [3] and crowned "Miss Fantasy Challenge" by Golf Channel. [4] McMurry has received two Telly Awards for her work as a producer, writer, and host of groundbreaking online content for the PGA Tour.
