Winslow Public Schools is a school district in Winslow, Maine. The superintendent of schools is Peter A. Thiboutot, who was formerly the assistant superintendent of AOS92 until 2018. The Winslow Superintendent's Office is located at 20 Dean Street in Winslow, next to the Winslow Elementary School. Winslow Public Schools has roughly 1,200 students.

Schools

For students at the WHS, they can choose to attend Mid Maine Technical Center (MMTC) for part of the day at Waterville High School.

History

For many years, Winslow was a member of School Union No. 52, which also included China and Vassalboro. School Union 52 dissolved in 2009 when AOS 92 was formed under a new state law.

In 2018, KVCS AOS 92 dissolved, and Winslow returned to an independent school district.

Maine Children's Home (MCH) is a nonprofit agency in Waterville, Maine that provides education, counseling, adoption, day care, and early childhood education services for pregnant teens and teen parents. Founded as an orphanage in 1899 and incorporated as the Maine Children's Home Society in 1901, it began dealing solely with adoptions in 1915. It merged with the Maine branch of The Home for Little Wanderers of Massachusetts in 1962, creating the Maine Children's Home for Little Wanderers. In 1973 it introduced an "alternative" high school program for pregnant teens and teen parents.

She was president of Kennebec Valley Community College in Fairfield, Maine, from 1984 to 2012, and since 2013 has served as chief academic officer of the Maine Community College System. China Lake (Maine)

China Lake is a lake in Kennebec County, Maine. Located northeast of the state capital of Augusta, China Lake is situated in the towns of China and Vassalboro. China Lake has two large basins connected by a narrow neck. The elongated eastern basin with an average depth of less than 30 feet (9.1 m) is entirely within the town of China, and has an irregular shoreline heavily developed with residences and seasonal cottages. The more nearly circular western basin extending into East Vassalboro is as deep as 85 feet (26 m), and shoreline development around the western basin has been discouraged to allow use as a water supply for Waterville and Winslow. The western basin overflows into Outlet Stream in the town of Vassalboro. Outlet Stream flows 7 miles (11 km) north to discharge into the Sebasticook River in Winslow 1 mile (1.6 km) upstream of the Kennebec River.

OGC was a school for both day students and boarding students, grades 6 through 12. The school was housed on the former Oak Grove School's 500-acre campus.
